I would prefer Saad, but Chicago will probably want to return the first round in the deal, and we should not trade our first if it is not part of the deal for an elite 2C.

In no way is Saad good enough to get a 1st
Something like Asplund & a 2nd is the highest we should consider

he is a 5th d type of guy now. elite body of skills for the game but breakable and a bit below average vision/ hockey iq.
just would need cap space to bring in either of those 2 guys.

The fact that chucky and Saad would be considered comparable makes me hope this is consideration of their trade value; chucky like a 4th and Saad like a first.

i dont think anyone belives that saad is not the better player. its mostly is he going to be worth the extra cost compared to gal.
i put a little blurb in the Team Explanation section about this very thing, so it be more obv that i dont see them as same level.

Defense only seems to matter for some players. Like everyone will arbitrarily make up that Karlsson is defensively poor until his productive peak is over, and people will for some reason not know that Saad is a possession monster and was never even that much worse than Panarin. Galchenyuk is one of the worst defensive players in the league.

Chicago fans seem to think that Saad is the second coming. Therefore he will cost a 1st round pick and your first born.

However, Buffalo is in a bit of a pickle next year with contracts, not may people signed, but those that are are high $. I don't think that you really want a (another) $6M 40 point, guy eating cap space.

Dump that extra money into a starting goalie, not a over-rated winger that nearly every Chicago fan is trying to dump, er, I mean trade.

Saad is good. But the contract is a bit high for what he actually produces. Galchenyuk sucks.

I could see a hockey trade here. Risto for Saad

No way should the Hawks even consider that trade for one it's not equal value but more importantly; Boqvist, Mitchell and Murphy are locked in on our right side; Seabrook too but hopefully as a 7th man.

I'm sure the Hawks would even consider a 2nd or 3rd, but would need to include a good prospect, Aslund is not IMO, he's not showing much so far. I'm not sure what the prospect pool in Buffalo has beyond Cozens that looks attractive.

Ryan Johnson is probably the guy you’re looking for.

Saad will not get a 1st, or a top prospect from anyone
He’s a good player
But he just isn’t at the level that would get that type of return

Look at the historical TDL moves. Saad is better then a lot of players that got a late 1st round pick by a country mile and he's not a pure rental given that he has an additional which increases his value.

1) it’s not the trade deadline

2) for every Saad-like player that a GM got desperate to overpay for, there’s plenty who didn’t get a top return

3) GMs have gotten MUCH stingier with their 1st round picks recently

So MIGHT there be a GM desperate enough to give a 1st or top prospect for Saad?
Sure
But it’s pretty unlikely
And would be the exception, not the rule

Again... Saad is “good” but NOT “great”

If traded, the hawks will wait for the deadline in about a month. Saad is getting a 1st and a prospect, you can mark my words. The Hawks got offered a 1st for Gus last year and declined, Saad is worth more then Gus hands down.

Well of course u think that
You’re a Hawks fan, so you’re obviously biased
I’m a Sabres fan,
so i have no feeling one way or the other about Chicago

I’ll bet you the Hawks do not get a 1st for him
Nor will they get a top prospect

Now...
when u guys start having discussions this summer about trading local Buffalo boy PK88,
then I’ll start talking to you about a 1st & a top prospect

LMAO; read the rumors and media reports. Hawks aren't moving Saad unless it's an overpayment which they are saying is a 1st and a prospect. No way in hell do the Hawks move Saad for just a late 1st...dumb ass move when the acquiring team can easily flip him after the playoffs for a first so they get Saad for free for the playoffs? Please use some common sense here. Edmonton, Avs and Pens have shown interest. Say what you want to say, I'm just going off of what the media is saying; get angry at them.

And if you think you're getting Kaner for a 1st and prospect you are a moron.

Appreciate the name calling
You’re a great human

But you’re dead wrong about what Saad will get in a trade
Period
Keep them homer glasses on though
You’re gonna need them
It’s about to be a bunch of rough years for the Hawks
As a Sabres fan, i know all about it

You made a moronic comment, saying you think the Hawks would trade Kane for a 1st and a prospect. If you're feelings are hurt, think before you try to make a backhanded comment trying to insult and then cry about it when you get called out.

Argue with the media, I'm sure all the expert analysts will really value your opinion. You and a couple folks here don't agree; it's free country but the majority agree including the analysts who make a living covering this stuff.

Saads AAV is what makes him probably not a 1st round player without CHI taking bad salary the other way
