Why are you trading your RFAs, in some cases for so little? Teams aren't giving up a lottery pick or pick in the teens for Kreider.

Why does this matter? If Boston asks for retention to do the deal because they have space issues, why wouldnt they retain? Rangers have no space issues this year.

Hi. Kreider is going for a 1 st and a prospect from a playoff team. Sub in St Louis or Boston or Pittsburgh or Colorado or whoever you want. He is the top forward at the deadline and getting dealt, which sucks since he should be just signed and given the "C".

Which RFA did i sell low on? Tony? Strome? Georgiev? I think a 2nd + for Georgiev would be a steal. Goalie market is weird, clear the its gonna be Shesty for the long haul and that Hank isnt going anywhere this year or next. Strome is a nice piece but the idea of signing him to a contract that eats up any UFA years (literally anything longer than a 1 yr QO at $3.45m) is silly to me, he is completely inflated by Panarin and I think we are seeing his absolute best level of play. Tony? I think Kase is a really good player and would address needs that both teams have in a more hockey move sense. I think 1 of Trouba/Fox/ADA will have to go since the fools coaching this team wont play a D man on his off side and i would like to see Joey Keane get a shot this year. Tony makes the most sense since Trouba is never leaving.

I dunno. I mean a similar package would be a nice return in my book, maybe a 2nd and a good prospect, though i dont know the Buff system well. I think Rangers would want a F prospect, and it wont be Cozens, All the next good Buffalo prospects are on D or G, not sure if i guy like Hugens is enough of a return to merit not trading him elsewhere. But clearly the Rangers and Sabres have done deals before. I think a 2nd, 5th and Rodrigues would be an interesting offer, seems like he has fallen out of favor and could use a change of scenery.

Strome is an rfa making 3.1 mm with arb rights. At this point im no longer convinced he's a bust on his own. The math said his number from last year were unsustainable, but then he got on a line with panarin. Sure his numbers are inflated with Panarin, but he's the kind of player who put with a dynamic player makes good on it. He was like the 6th overal pick. So i think he costs more then 2 two's, because he has term and only needs to be tendered at 3.4. If he was a ufa it would be the 2 twos. I think the krieder and the Fast values are right. Gorgiev is weird, if San jose hadnt **** the bed this year you'd think he'd be going there for a 2+ or a one with like a 4th attached to him. Personally i think deangelo's going to cost more then that, but mostly because he has term left and such a low cap number that any team can afford the add.

Only a fool what think the Flyers who are out of the playoffs right now would risk a lottery pick for Kreider. Seen so many of these Kreider trades going to non playoff or bare team....Doesn't happen. Now Boston or St Louis I understand but certainly not an playoff team.
Don't know why you so submissive to even think Kreider is worth a mid round. Guess you take anything you can get, anywhere.

Tony has arbitration rights next year as well. Strome shot 17.3% last year and is shooting 17.1% through 42 this year. Ovi is a career 12% shooter. Is strome a better shooter than Ovi? Im not here to argue sustainability. Im just here to say paying the dude with his bad underlying numbers and his shooting percentage ends the Rangers up with a nightmare contract when his shooting returns to the mean.

talks like 4 seconds to see the fact that the Flyers are in fact in a playoff spot right now. AV as their coach, new GM, exactly the kind of team that flips a 1st for Kreider to make a push. But who cares about the specific team like I said. The return is gonna be a 1 and a B/B+ prospect for Kreider at 50%.

I agree with you on strome. That the shooting should be unsustainable, but considering i could have scored on his goal last night, that helps the percentage. The key for the rangers is to pay him what he's worth by himself (4mm per for 2 years) and not what he's worth because of panarin (anything that starts with a 5 or has term over 2). Sell when the value is the highest and not get stuck with a contract he doesnt deserve, but 2 twos is what they could get if he was a ufa next season not with an addition year of control.

I think we are haggling on the margins here then. I would be fine with 2 2's, but if the Rangers can get a 1 or a real good prospect for a team looking for that last piece, that would be awesome. That we are even having this conversation i think is pretty lucky, because it could be about how Spooner sucked so much he bombed out of the league. I think my fear is that the Rangers value him more than 2 x 4 and his agent clearly does too. Scary.
