Valuing Price

Description
What would be Price's value? Some on here have him fetching a boat load, while some have him getting a cap dump and a pick. Goalies are so tough to figure out. If Price plays at his peak, he's worth the contract, but anything less than that would be a liability. I have 3 trades listed. The first trade is the ridiculous overvalued one I see, the second being the undervalued with the cap dump, and the third being what I think a possible deal could look like for Price. Thoughts????

There's is absolutely no way that you are trading price without taking a big contract back. The one being thrown around on here that I really like is a Price for Burns (with other pieces) based-trade. What do you think of that?

Value on Price is fine
we'll move him out when he chooses to waive his 100% full NMC

in 3 years his contracts almost all paid off making his issue mostly Cap related .
there are a ton of small market teams who are more scared by Salary having to be paid then Cap they never fully use .

NJD is a perfect landing spot for Price in the future as his Wife can still work out of a Fashion capital in New York .
Price would be landing there to help Blackwood share Tandem. Price does have the ability to put NJD goaltending back on the map with the support of a solid second goalie . (price's best years were with halak and budaj having since gone through to many back ups to name )

Price's value is based on when we sell him
it isnt his cap team give a crap about its his Salary as only about 10/31 NHL teams are wealthy enough in big name markets that they could afford a price . i believe its 2023 like 3/4 of his contract will be paid out making him more valuable based on the fact more teams can no be included in bidding on him .

Where ever Price goes it isnt about going to BC they treat it as their vacation home like many NHL'ers do with their home towns .
Where they land will require a Fashion industry of note for his wife's business to continue in

What do you mean??? 7 Million in real dollars (let alone the 10.5M cap hit) is a lot to be paying a goalie especially for a budget team! Right now, there is only 4 current NHL goalies getting paid 7M or more.. You don't see it very often

Also, where is Price's game going to be in 3 years?? I don't think it will be better than it is right now.

Price's value is decreasing and his contract is quite horrible, to put it mildly. I can't see his trade value being that high, the contract is too big of a risk for basically any team to take.

That contract sealed his fate in a sense. He's almost 100% certain to stay in MTL for the rest of it.

Unless it gets bought out.

Edmonton said no, fast.

Buffalo and Calgary didn't hang up, but they aren't saying yes yet. There needs to be retention due to that 3 more years of bad contract that Price has. It's not necessarily what Price is RIGHT NOW, it's 6+ seasons of $10.5M. $10.5M through his 38th year. He isn't even a good buyout candidate in those later years due to the structure. However, as to what he is right now... 12 seasons as a starter and what, 2 playoff series wins?

It's risky, but I agree. It seems like the only way a Price trade could work is if he's traded for another older guy with a gigantic contract

The EDM trade is the overvalued one, so I hope they'd say no lol

Price has no value. Edmonton reject without question.

Truth is, Montreal isn't going to make a trade because he's worth nothing.
