Yeah no doubt, just wanted to make a joke to lighten the mood a bit. Touchy subject that.

You cant be sure about draft 1 year and a half after... Barkov didnt even make half a pts per game in his second season. Plus, KK is playing with Weise and Cousins on a 3rd line right now. Hughes is getting all of his points on the pp playing with Pettey, Boeser and Horvat while Tkachuk is playing big minutes because, well you know the sens...

He reminds me of Patrick. Presumably the best C of the draft class, but not exactly blossoming at the beginning of his career. Hard to say how good would Patrick be now due to his injuries, but the expectations of his abilities has gone lower from what they were when he was drafted.

I agree... Nolan Patrick was almost 1 OA PICK... end up second and now injured after 2 first season of 31pts... If KK got injured I will be very worried about him!

No that I've read the question correctly. I agree with Krakowitz and a1111 Quinn Hughes. I'm still pissed Detroit passed over him.

When I was watching that draft I thought that mtl would pick Zadina at the third pick, but they wanted a center that draft. I still think it was the wrong decision to draft kotkaniemi

Kotkaniemi is nearly a year younger than all of the players you mention. He's playing a much more important role and he's more defense focused. You guys are comparing a defensive center to a pure offensive sniper (Zadina). I still stand by Kotkaniemi.

Not exactly apples to apples comparing Kotkaniemi to either of them. His rookie year was his first season on NA ice, which requires a different mindset, plus we don't know how much his knee effected him. This season he was coming off of knee surgery, plus he missed some time with injury. Also, offensive winger vs being eased into a 2 way C role should in theory have different development curves.
