Too much from NYI for Pageau, we're not giving up Bode Wilde for him. We'd give you a 1st and other assets for him and Borowiecki.

You calling out my laziness/hastiness? How dare you.

I think there is room for both. Challenging the young guys and are solid locker room presences. Boro knows what he is so he won't get much but I've been really impressed with him and DeMelo as a shutdown pair.

Hard to come by reliable 2/3C guys so Tierney stays, Can play offense, can play defense and is respectable at both. Unless we get someone with term to help out on D, then I think we'll hold on to him until Norris, Brown or whomever we draft this year is ready. Always nice to have that option.

My heart says re-sign Pageau at all costs but if a decent prospect is on the block along with a high round pick, you jump at that opportunity. Specially if he's a UFA.

Boro: 3.25M x 2y.
DeMelo: 16M x 4y.
Duke: 25M x 5y.
Tierney: 6.5M x 2y.
Brown: 16M x 4y.

That would be alright. If Ottawa can land a 1st for Pageau, that's a win in my books.

Boro: 3.25M x 2y. I'd do this in a heart beat
DeMelo: 16M x 4y. Same on this
Duke: 25M x 5y. I am scared that the duke takes the foot of the gas once he gets stability... i'd feel better with a 3 year deal
Tierney: 6.5M x 2y. That's alot of $$$$
Brown: 16M x 4y. I like this

laugh laugh Wasn't trying to put you to work lol

I think Tierney also gets us a nice return.. but I see your point, you need players to play.

Either way, the karlsson trade is looking to be a hell of a haul.

100%.

Looks as though Duke has found his spot as top RW in Ottawa. Unless someone like Batherson comes along and totally outplays him, I don't see who can replace that type of offense. It looks as though he has a great bond with D.J. and he trusts him. 3-4 years would be fine too. Shows commitment in that aspect but another 1 year deal would be horrendous for him and he'd clock out.

How is 3.25 million AAV too much for Tierney? Ottawa basically has to qualify him for that much anyways.

Oups... Misread that. Thought you were saying 6.5M per year (even tho all the other signing were total contract value).

And I agree! You can't give him a 1 year deal..
