I'm not sure Guerin would move Brodin. His contract expires right before the expansion draft, so a handshake agreement to re-sign him after the expansion draft while the Wild protect Suter, Spurgeon, and either Dumba or Soucy is a good way to reduce the chances of losing a good player to Seattle.

Not sure what it would take, but why would the canes do this? They have a pretty stacked D core right now. Use that cap space to add a decent 1A 1B goalie

Believe it or not - we actually have a gap on the 2nd pairing next to Pesce that Gardiner Edmundson and Fleury are struggling to fill. Having a solid defensively responsible 2LHD would be an ideal TDL move, but appears It will need to be elsewhere...

Oh, BTW, it wouldn’t stop us from looking at Goalies either.

Brodin has 2 1/2 Years left. the most recent trade for a comparable would have to be Leafs for Muzzin. TOR had to pay a 1st + B Level Prospect + Young Bottom Pair Defencemen for Muzzin with 1 1/2 years left

We do not need a 2LD. Jake is a great 2LD. Edmundson is.... not Haydn is fine as a 3LD and TvR as a 3RD is fine.

My stats, not opinions. Not a discussion, just the truth. Gards is fine, we don't need more cap locked up on the blue line

I hope we all find someone as much as @Caniac2000 loves Jake Gardiner. For me, I’m still skeptical but I’m also not trying to trade him. I hope it works out for sure.

Bro, I don't love him. I believe in the stats that say he's good. They were right with the Nino trade, they were right with the Skinner trade, Gardiner is cheaper than Faulk and all analytical stats suggest he's better. Don't try being derogitory with me

I’m not your bro...also I said I hope it works out. I’m a fan too, I’m just not buying into the analytics yet. For ever stat you’ve stated about JG in the past there is an opposing stat that casts doubt.

My biggest concern is he looks extremely slow on the ice and laboring like he’s still injured. He has no margin for error because he can’t make up ice due to his unexplosive skating.

Nah, bro. You wanna be making jokes about how I feel about garidner, you're gonna put up with it. The only stat that suggests for a second Gardiner has been bad is his +/-, which his analytics explain, but as you said you're "not buying into the analytics" So that's your own bad. Gardiner asa top 4 D man has been fine, he's been allowed to actually play top 4 minutes now that Rod's affection for Edmundson has died down and he's flourished. Yes, you're gonna say he looks slow and whatever, but your eyes can lie to you. You can see what you want to see. It's why I have STATS and FACTS to back up that Jake Gardiner is a top 4 D man, and that there is no need to waste more cap on the best blueline in hockey, and Joel Edmundson .
