What about sending Stanley and a 3rd to Buffalo for Miller and just sending a pick for Staal

Preds pass - not enough for Ekholm. A bottom 6 forward (who NSH does not need), d prospect (a fine one, but still - also seems to have a bit of an attitude), and a late 1st is not enough for a legit top 2 defenseman on an incredible contract for 2 more seasons after this. Especially considering WPG is a division rival.

I really like the Eric Staal idea. He's still a very good player in all situations.
Not too sure about Ekholm deal. Might be a little steep for the jets but it's probably spot on for his value. I wonder if the jets and preds would even make a deal ?

Too much for Miller and Staal won't waive for Winnipeg, not sure about the Preds deal.
