Grubi>>>>Price

I wouldn't give a third or Legare for Kovy... try a 6th or maybe 5th...

While I disagree because a)Numbers don't lie, b)Contracts don't lie, and c)Age isn't just a number...

I'll put it this way instead-Even if Price is more valuable than Grubby, the difference between them isn't Timmins, Kaut and a 2020 1st. Not even close.

Grubi is a consistently better player than Price, younger, and cheaper (overall, Grubi's hdSV%, GSAA, GSAx are all better than Price's iirc, and they don't take into account the defense...)

Actually that's more true in terms of value rather than in terms of level. Price is most likely the better goalie of the two, but Grubauer's contract is at least 420 times better than Price's.

I agree with contract but not as much with value.
Grubauer's contract is not 420 times better, its 69420 times better

Contract is probably the most important thing to look at when you evaluate player's trade value though...

If Montreal paid a fourth for Scandella only a week ago, why in the world would Edmonton pay a third and a sixth for him?!?

Scandella for a 4th was a pretty good trade for Montreal. If Montreal retains money, they could easily get more.

That might or might not be true, but it's not a condition of the trade presented.

I'm stating that right now. Currently Scandella is playing top line because Chiarot is injured. If he can prove to handle a load of minutes, teams would become more interest, perhaps sparking a bidding war at the TD.

Not saying we will get more value for him, but at the end of the day, he's still a very capable top 6 defender (maybe even top 4). If a contending team loses a defender, they might just overpay for Scandella's services.

Note that because he gets a balloon salary payment this season, he's "upside-down" on cap hit vs. actual cash outlay.

Didn't even realize that. Might be important when it comes to salary on a contender. Pretty much means Montreal has to retain if they want more value.
