Dermott shouldn’t be in that cbj trade. Dumba is struggling and hill isn’t a upgrade over hutch

Moving Ceci's contract to allow your other trades is not worth the above losses.

I love how half the Leaf fans on here think that moving several regulars out of the lineup, who already know the system and don't need adjustment periods is the answer to making the team better. If TO makes any moves it will be to upgrade 1 spot on the defence. If they can find a good replacement for Ceci, that is the move they make, nothing else is needed. Also the Defence is fine, if anyone actually watches the games and understands hockey, what's killing this squad is when a forward generally loses the puck at the oppositions blueline and gives up odd man rushes. Cut those out and TO will become a defensive juggernaught. Just look back to the Jets game, Freddie tripped and Elhers scored on an empty netter, that likely won't happen again this season. The next goal was Tavares coughing it up on the blueline on the PP. The 3rd goal was another giveaway in the Jets zone that turned into a 3 on 1.

The media is liking to say that TO gets ground to dust in their zone but that just isn't true, they may give up a lot of chances but when they are setup, this team is like the Islanders in how they defend, they'll let you shoot from outside the dots all day because Freddie will stop those all day, keep the puck away from the middle of the ice and teams are going to have trouble scoring. That is definitely not a defenceman issue, but forwards taking too many chances.
