Counter with anything less than Pod? Or scared of Weber's contract (which will be very tradeable to Nashville in the future)

I think you have overvalued a lot of the Montreal guys here, but I think Toronto would have a hard look at that trade. Petry gives them a cushion to make sure Timmy Liljegren is ready to go and although he wouldn't be a perfect partner for Reilly, he'd be one of the best guys Reilly has ever played with.

The one caveat is I am not sure if they would move the 2nd rounder since they have already traded their first. But it would definitely give them something to think about.

Edm says no and I think if Winnipeg is giving up two big assets it would be for a top dman

You could probably get more for Petry and Danault.

Danault def no to getting more. You realize that you’re asking for arguably WPGs best prospect and a 1st for a very good center...Danault would have to elite all start caliber to drawl that return.

I dont think you get much more but I am just not as high on Vesalainen as most. Big strong player but he could turn out like another Joel Armia, who has become a good player in his own right but not exactly a top 6 guy, not a bottom 6 either but probably moved up and down the 2nd or 3rd line. That with what's probably a late pick for a 50+ two way centerman, on a good contract, plays every situation and got Selke votes last year with being in the fringe discussions this year, I think you get another 3rd rounder or so.

Petry you can definitely get more and I'm of the club that doesnt think Ceci is horrible. Over payed yes, but not brutal. Bracco is a proven AHL player but can he make that jump? And does MTL have room in thier top 6 for him long term? 2nd round pick is in the 50s. All that for a guy who has performed as a top 30 dman in the league for the past 2 years and would instantly be Toronto's top RHD, definitely not enough and they would get out bid for him with that offer.

Seems like a fair trade for the Isles, I think they would be interested in Thompson as well as the team could really use another C.

#2 C at worst on most teams and gets Selke votes. He is one of the better shut down centers in this league. I think that price is fair for both sides.

Some Canucks fans are jumping the gun after the 7 game win streak. This team is just starting to compete for a playoff spot. Benning has put the team in a cap bind. They need the young players (including prospects) to improve if they want to be competitive for the cup. Therefore, adding Weber doesn't help.

Figured dropping Loui would offset that.

Loui's contract only goes two more years. Weber is another 6. Don't have the cap space as Pettersson and Hughes will want big $ when their ELCs expire. Sorry, Weber doesn't work.
