Is it just me, or does anyone else think trading either Woll or Scott is a bad idea. They both need seasoning and who knows how they may progress. Scott for me is very interesting. He's big, was utterly dominant in his last WHL season and I think could be our future. He's still so young and it often takes until their 23-25 before a goalie can really hit their stride.

You’re not the only one.... goalies are hard to predict and you never know which ones are going to break through till they do. No way we should trade Tukka errr I mean scott or Woll..,.

I don't think too many intelligent fans want one of them moved. Woll has looked fine in the AHL and Scott has been a dominant CHL goalie. Now with Scott's surgery and recovery looming, he may never recover and play up to that level, but trading goalie prospects before you know what they will be is silly. You'll never get value and great goalies are hard to acquire. The Leafs have been awful for a decade at producing goalie talent, now we have two potential guys and people want to trade them away, I don't get it. If they both work out, great, if only one works out, that's fine too. But they need time.

Just because something could happen doesn't mean it will. Tolvanen had the best d+1 year in recent KHL memory, but that doesn't mean he's a sure fire Tarasenko copy. Funny how that reasoning seems to apply one way only.

I really like what I've seen from Scott, his game is all about positioning and he's really big, he does get a little too active at times but I think with good coaching he doesn't have to do a lot to translate his game to higher levels. Woll is a bit more athletic but he's smaller and I think relies on his athleticism more which can mean making the jump to the pros a little harder, he hasn't been lights out in his first pro season but that doesn't mean a whole lot.

The thing that blows my mind is that more often than not they are trading these guys for a 28 year old backup or some other older piece that isn't really going to do a lot of anything to help us. Most fans on this site though can't see beyond this year and maybe the next. After that the future doesn't exist and doesn't matter in their minds. All shortsighted goofs.

i guess that no one is looking at the 24 year old goalie that the Leafs get in return. This has been a down 20+ games for Saros; but his prior 78 were 2.50 GAA and +.920 Sv%; to me thats the goalie of 2021-2023 till Woll is ready; and Eeli is a high upside project at LW; I'm not advocating trading Woll/Scott; unless the leafs get an under 25 established NHL G back (Georgiev/Saros/Campbell)

yeah, I personally would never trade for, or trade away a goalie spec, they're way to unpredictable, to trade away or trade for, and also are usually undervalued by other GM's because of their unpredictability, especially not with two as relatively highly thought of as Woll and Scott.

Its also why goalies are rarely drafted in the first two rounds now a days. They are too risky to take there and the difference between an average and a great goalie is often the mental game and that comes with time. I'd hold on to both Scott and Woll for a while yet.
