If gudbranson is better than ceci don’t the ducks want more? If he isn’t than why do the leafs make this trade?

I think their value would be closer bc Ceci only has a year left. You could add a pick going the other way from the Leafs

So the idea would be to help the leafs next season. The two issues I see is that ducks may need gudbranson next season and the leafs will want a better Dman. With Holl and Lilly I think our target should be a youngish Dman who can handle top pair minutes and is defensively responsible.

This was meant to help them more this year (better player, a little cap relief, grit), but I agree. Having a right side with *young top 4 dman*, Holl, Liljegren would be way better than having Gudbranson, but this gets them a serviceable RHD with some grit. If it doesn't work out they could trade him next year for a late pick

The Gudbranson deal is terrrible for the Leafs. Watched him play in Vancouver for a couple of years and his plus/minus was off the chart bad and realized that his skating foot speed is way too slow for today's NHL. Benning realized this and cut his losses and traded him for Pearson. It took the Penquins a short period of time and then unloaded him to Ducks. Makes no sense for Leafs to give up the superior Ceci for Gundbranson.
I would probably pass on Andersson deal as well as he has been a bust and Leafs do not have time and space for him to develope in their line-up as now in winning mode and better off to hold on to Bracco and 4th round pick for a better trade deadline deal.

I do like the idea of adding toughness. He can chuck knucks. If his contract is retained it would be an easy contract to move. Possibly with a few assets to retain a better Dman. Good points.

Feel this is a lateral move for this season at best.
Andersson and his bad attitude can rot with the Rangers, he should not have any value IMO.

Guddy wasn't too bad with the Penguins. He was quite a bit better, but he just got pushed out of the lineup bc of Marino. I think there's more than just bad development issues going on with Andersson, but I like Bracco as well. We'll agree to disagree
