(a jets fan offered this for Dillon and M. Karlsson. I think those guys are about even with Kempny and Panik. A Sharks fan said they had to give up a better prospect to get it done. I think the Caps have enough depth at LHD and RW to take a lukewarm return and open up some cap space.)

no lol you are trading Ovechkin and trading him to the Pens of all. Ovechkin will never be traded nor is it a good idea. If he ever goes to crap he will still always be effective on the powerplay.

Can probably get more picks and prospects, but as many injuries as the aging pens have, we'll never have to see him in the playoffs.

edit: plus, a couple years ago, when Galchenyuk had his 30 goal season or whatever, all the Canadiens fans said he's worth Ovi straight up, so we're getting a deal!

I completely agree the Sharks can get slightly better for Dillon. He's got a longer track record than Kempny. I think an Isles fan just posted Ho-Sang and a 2nd for Dillon, which is better, and didn't even ask for M. Karlsson, whom you all could still get a 3rd for.

No idea whether any Jets fans agree with my Kempny=Dillon and Panik=Karlsson idea. And even less idea of whether "No Relation" Virtanen is NHL-bound.

But I think a 2nd round pick, 5M of cap space, and a grab bag of AHL and Eurpean league prospects would help the Caps stay good next year, and maybe clear space for a fun rental, if they want one.... even though it's probably not Galchenyuk.
