This is a little far.... I would trade Nylander for Domi 1 for 1 lol.

Think Robertson and Liljegren, with a little sweetener (Evans, maybe, or McShane?) to round it out.

Nope Stealing him, Habs can't afford him after they sign a 7/8 million dollar starting goalie

I wouldn't, I think Nylander has way more upside, people just like Domi because he has some fire, but he's not really as good as people think. Last season could very well be his career year. I think 70 points is his top end. He's a 60 point player year over year I'd wager. Nylander could be a point a game player for years.

Whoops my bad I meant to say that I wouldn’t trade him one for one, my bad for that typo haha. I agree with you. But I do think that max could be a guy who puts up 70 pts every year easily. Especially if he plays on a good time with good line mates. I would love for the jets to acquire him as a 2c.

i'm merely making a point that neither team wants to give up the assets to get the other player.... even 1 for 1 would never happen.

Sure whatever, I don't care much to be honest. I just think Habs fans are going to be disappointed. They are likely going to be going through some hard times in the coming years. Two mammoth terrible contracts they will be hard pressed to move and not enough high end talent up front to do anything right now. If they do sell and rebuild and get elite talent, that will have a hard time affording them due to 20 million tied up to Weber and Price.

You'll note, I'm not the one starting these threads. I'm just telling you that Montreal has no more use for Ceci than Toronto does ... or Ottawa did.

I wasn't proposing anything. I was just saying that if the Habs are going to have a fire sale, it's not going to be to get a player of similar age.

Isn't Johnsson a year older only? Or is it 2?

Sorry, my head was stuck in another debate when someone tried to offer Ceci for Petry and a pick.

Trading Domi for Johnsson is a downgrade for the Habs and, if Domi helps the Leafs, that 2nd rounder will be somewhere in the late 50s. Habs need another 50/50 prospect like a hole in the head. They're system is lousy with them: Brook, Norlinder, Ikonen, Ylonen, Romanov, McShane, Hillis, Struble, Olofsson, Harris, Fairbrother..... Every single one of them seems to be the "second coming" of someone great and maybe Romanov will be, but he was a lucky grab at 38. The rest? Given the Habs lamentable amateur scouting record -- Kotkeniemi #3, really?!!!! -- I wouldn't put a lot of faith in them getting much from a late 2nd.

I think teams are going to see TO and what they put into player development and follow suit. The talent between elite and regular players is vast but the difference between an NHLer and a career minor leaguer isn't a lot and TO puts a tonne of resources into giving these kids the lessons needed to give them an edge. Guys like Marchmont, Engval, Johnsson....all undrafted or late round picks that were developed into good NHL players. That is what will keep teams on the top despite not getting top picks

Why do you want to trade Suzuki for an overpaid center who's now 29? Makes no sense if want to compete in 2-3 years.

center over a winger. its pretty equal value i'd say, but if domi is with a contract, than domi's value is higher
