EDM
  1. Tatar, Tomas ($1,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Montreal gets a great prospect, a couple of picks and a guy who they can use until the end of the season so buy time for their kids current;y playing in Laval. Edmonton gets more scoring on the wings, which they desperately need.

That's the market. Maybe the 3rd rounder is too much, but there are certainly gonna be 3-4 teams battling to get Tatar...

Shouldn't Winnipeg be looking for a defenseman first?

First off, Holland said he is not trading his 1st round pick, Secondly the Oilers are not trading home town boy Benson or their will be a revolt. If that is the market, which I dont think it is, the Oilers will NOT be involved in a Tartar trade, be will stay on the Canadians. That value is higher than Mark Stone trade and I will take Stone 10 out of 10 times over Tartar. Stone is one of the top 5 wingers in the NHL, that guy does everything right. IMO

Yeah that's what I was thinking. They already have a wicked top 6 they don't need to add more to that.

I think Nate Thompson brings a lot more in the locker room than a 5th round will. We should keep him here especially through this tough stretch. That Oilers 1st has to be this year, it's more valuable for Marc to be a home pick.

The Oilers shouldn't trade for anyone, they should sell and get anything that they can. They are barely a playoff team and any injury to McDavid and Draisaitl and the team may not win a game in the NHL. I have no idea how they will fix this disaster

Hah, I mean we need a 2c and a dman. I think our top 4 will be fine. Once kulikov gets back in rhythm it’ll be Morrissey-Poolman
Kulikov-Pionk

Which is good enough. Our bottom pairing could be better but it is what it is. I don’t expect us to make a deep run this year. I’m more into the fact of adding a 2c of the future and bolstering the backup internally. We have a number of solid LD prospects that will be ready next year.

The Oilers are gonna lose their 2020 3rd rounder to CGY in the Neal/Lucic deal... Holland won't trade his 2020 first rounder.

That's the point. If you have Kulikov on your top 4, you're in trouble.

And the first in one of the strongest drafts of all time is much much better than the 2nd. Benson is Oilers best forward prospect.

Heinola , Gawnke, Samberg , Lundmark and Chrisholm .
they got prospects but they need a year as Samberg and Gawnke are close as Stanley is IMO if not closer .

Niku they might wanna keep though as he bridges the gap untill the new guys show up

It's funny you don't mention that Stone has a 9.5M$ (For 8 years) cap hit compared to a meager 3.8M$ (With the million retained, for 2 years), you don't think a similar guy at 40% of the price is a better asset?

Honestly at the start of the year he looked really good. Then he got hurt. So I mean I’m not complaining about him getting back into stride. He could be a serviceable 2LD. Look at what we’ve had to work with and we’ve made it work. I think that I’d prioritize getting a 2c of the future over a dman to fit in the top 4, when we have a number of LD prospects that will be ready next year. Samberg will be a top 4 dman. Heinola will push for that spot too. So I’m not too concerned. I’d rather make a splash and get Domi to add to our already dynamic top 6 and then fill the hole next year with a stud in Samberg.

You fix it by letting your prospect become regular NHL players, thats how you fix it, you dont trade away the whole team. Diference between Oilers and other teams is we have 2 elite players, that is a start every single GM in the league will take and start with. Holland who I am not a fan of, has not even been here for 1 year yet and you think it should be blown up and start over,. lol thats a joke, I as an Oilers fan never thought they would be a playoff team this year. I thought 2 years from now would be out time.

Yeah it was me and really? 2 potential 1sts, a really solid RD prospect, a good F prospect and two B prospects. I’m not sure why MTL wouldn’t consider this.

You mean for 100 games. Stone has a bad back end of his contract, but he is a way better player. If players are worth the price than GM's will pay them. Year after year consistency pays.
