Straight up yes but Detroit isn't giving up any draft picks to get Rodrigues.

Theyre saving a year on Little and avoiding protecting his NMC and Okposo would then be open to the expansion and they get an NHL ready 2nd pair RHD. I dont think its too unreasonable

You forgot the fact that they’re giving up a top 6 winger in roslovic.. he’s having an off year but he’s still a top 6 guy. Even if you take him out jets still say no.

Hes a good 3rd liner that would get a shot in the top 6 on teams that dont have the depth, like Det or Ott, but hes not a top 6 forward, hes good for 40 to 50 at his pinnacle with the right team mates

I dont think Roslavic is a top 6 forward and theyre getting a good d man D. 3rd line winger = 2nd pair d at the same age

Wow that Preds deal is just silly - trade a guy you just signed for 7 years for an overrated D that's a UFA at the end of the season. Hard pass.

Legit forgot about that deal, my bad. Just went for something at around 2 mill cap hit who was a bottom 6 producer

Hah yeah okay, he’s not going to be a 40-50 pt guy. This is his first time actually getting a shot in the top 6. He’s going to be a permanent top 6 guy come next year and out up 60+ points.

@MisstheWhalers isnt gonna like this...

First shot at the top 6 and is on pace for 35 with a very good top 6 in Nashville

I just think this trade is silly, why trade a center who's a long term member of the team for a winger who makes more money, from everything I've heard is its agreed upon in his contract that Little will waive his NMC for the expansion draft and there's no guarantee he'll be picked by Seattle so protecting him isn't an issue, perhaps the Jets will want Seattle to take him but maybe not but either way he's really not an issue for them at the expansion draft.

As for Roslovic I'm not sure what he'll grow into but there's still upside and even if he's a 3rd liner he'll be a really good one and his ability to play center makes him a versatile player to have around so trading him for a young RHD that doesn't likely have anymore upside then the multiple RHD prospects (Nogier,Gawanke,Kovacevic) the Jets already have plenty of would be really dumb asset management.

Seriously I think the Jets defense issues are a bit overblown and they're flush with both left and right hand D prospects, if anything they're short on center prospects more then anything.

So yeah this trade doesn't make much sense for Winnipeg, it is great for Buffalo though.

Little's NMC ends this season, there is no need to protect him during the expansion draft.
