I won't disagree with you but interested in other opinions if he deserves to keep his current job as GM of the Canadiens.

I think that if he handle the trade deadline well he could by another year.

Bergevin is an absolute master at sugar coating and misleading the Canadiens fan base at every opportunity to keep his job. He only has his current job because he is part of the NHL oldboys network where he got and holds his job based on who he knows rather than actual competence and experience and has a team ownership group which doesn't really understand the hockey business.

He's amassed some interesting prospects, lots of draft picks in a deep draft, and large amounts of cap space to go into the summer BUT this HAS to be his last shot at rebuilding on the fly for a few years. If the team isn't obviously better by next season I think he should be done.

It's not Bergevin the problem. He's a really good DG but he was given orders to win now since he arrived in 2012. Remember that Markov, Subban, Plekanec, Price time? We missed the playoffs drafted Galchenuyk and went back in playoff again. He aquired Vanek, Radulov, Petry. Who would have rebuilt at that time? Nobody. Then Price became a superstar, which delayed the process even more.

Bergevin is the reason we drafted that many prospect the last 2 years. He managed to get a lot of picks here and there. He got Domi, Weber, Drouin, Armia, Suzuki, Romanov, Byron.. I mean, why fire him??!

The burdens are Molson, who has to accept hockey is not all about money (I think he makes millions every single playoff game) and Price, who has to ask for a trade. Otherwise, we'll be fooled.
