whats the cap situation on these?

The backup goalie situation is so precarious. The question is... If Freddie goes down, can the backup win a round... and its such a rediculous question bc most backups cant.... I don't know how good or how much of an upgrade Dell is... but I'd uncover as many rocks to find a former number 1 where the team will eat some salary... I heard Bernier floated yesterday if DET ate 1/2 his cap hit at 1.5M... I'd be comfortable with him or someone similar vs. an unproven backup. I think Dell and Hutch might be just moving deck chairs around... (Sammy, I am trying to offer thought, and insight instead of usual "black hatting" and shooting down ideas)

In the past I wished the Leafs could have picked up Shea Weber and then traded him for the last 3 years of his contract @ $1 MIL to a team needing to hit the salary cap floor. I think Connor Murphy is the best option now.

I would simply do Johnsson or Kerfoot for Murphy straight up. To get Chicago to the end of the season with Murphy or Seabrook gone I would trade Ceci as a their rental for Robin Lehner as a our rental and add a prospect or depth player to see if they would do retention on the salary.

Wondering:
- Johnsson, Ceci and Timashov for Murphy and Lehner ($2,500,000 retained)??

If Shaw is done with this latest major concussion maybe the Leafs would take Shaw's LTIR for the rest of this season and the next 2 seasons.

No interest in the sharks deal. Dells been a lot better recently with a good defense. Thornton’s been looking almost 20 years younger in his play, and I do think Dahlen has a lot more potential than Bracco
