Lol, I'm sure you meant to put something in there but why would Edmonton give the flames a 3rd for free?

Brodziak is on LTIR, probably out for the rest of his career. Moving him accomplishes nothing for either team...

Brodziak actually isn't on LTIR, just IR currently but could be moved to LTIR if Holland feels like he needs extra cap. So you are correct moving him does nothing and Manning is the cap dump Oilers should move if more cap is required.

Who's complaining about the Oilers forwards not being defensively responsible? The issue is that the bottom six is pretty much only good at playing in their own end or on the PK; there's a substantial need for production from the 3rd line. At least that's been well documented.

That's how it was to start the year but recently bottom 6 production has been middle of the pack which should be good enough when you have McDavid and Draisaitl running the top 6. I mainly think Oilers need a better faceoff guy to replace Haas in the dot so the 4th line isn't always chasing the puck. Glendening for Khaira?

I don't agree with the philosophy surrounding our entire bottom six as a whole. We have two defensive checking lines: if the Oilers want to seriously capitalize on a meek pacific division, then middle-of-the-road production behind the top six isn't exactly good enough. It might suffice, but the road ahead becomes easier of they opt to reinforce the third line.

I like a 4th line of Nygard-Sheahan-Haas and am open to having Archibald as the 13th forward. Names like Glendening aren't moving the needle in a third line scoring role, no matter how defensively brilliant he is. Names like Benson, Bonino, Fast, Pageau, etc are the guys that Edmonton should be looking at. The defensive assignments that will be forced into big minutes in the playoffs against McDavid or a Draisaitl-Nuge line will open up a lot more opportunities for those 30+ point players and would give the Oilers a phenomenal edge in any game against any team.

I would push for Tierney over any of the guys you listed (Pageau has been amazing but likely too expensive) Maybe JP+Pick gets you Tierney who is still under team control

Tierney is a name. Probably doesn't cost more than Jones and a 2nd assuming Ottawa's eating salary.
