Do you think Montreal would look to trade Jeff Petry, and if so, what do you think is a reasonable return? Side note: man that deal for Gallagher is so good.

You dream if you think Weal and Byron play before Lehkonen!! Coaches like him and he is indeed good. So he must be in the lineup. Poehling to Laval and Thompson 4c also.

for petry, a right shot 6'3 puck moving D who play 21 plus mins a night, has an excellent contract through his prime, can put up 40-50 points. well you're getting a first rd pick, a A to B level prospect and maybe another 2-3 rd pick.

That's probably accurate. Very similar to the return that the Kings received for Muzzin last year

Muzzin was 28 and was under contract for two years plus the balance of the year from the trade deadline when he was traded; Petry is 32 and has only the balance of this year plus next season for his new team. Nevertheless, you are right about trade value because I think Petry is superior to Muzzin, and I'm a big Muzzin fan from his days here at Staples Center.

No I believe Muzzin only had 1.25 years left on his contract when LA traded him. He also had clocked a lot more miles with all of LA's deep playoff runs than Petry has in his career with Edmonton and Montreal.

Ouch! Misread a chart again!

Anyway, my main point is that no matter what argument someone might make about elements in Muzzin's favor, your evaluation seems very accurate to me.

Bud I kind of just threw the lines together just so I didn't have 16 players upfront. My concern was with JP's trade value.

Yeah, that stands to reason.
