Montreal will received lots of better offer for tatar. He is cheap have a year remaining and is coming off back to back career season. A first round pick is the starting point

the prospect you're offering us is questionable
he's got 1 attribute that might be worth a gamble is his goal scoring
42% success rate on the season in the WHL , 37% in USports and 48% as a 24 year old AHL rookie .
Does that mean he'll crack the NHL as a 25 year old rookie next year ? Probably not
But he could be someone we can grow into a Byron type role from the AHL to the 3rd /4th line wing role responsible for 10-20 goals a year .

i value him at a 5th round pick because he'll still take as long to develop as some of the 5th rounders in the draft.
that being said a 2nd , 3rd and a prospect with a value of a 5th isnt worth a Tatar who's a top line forward with back to back career years and trending upwards .

Maybe Jankowski , conditional 2nd and a conditinal 3rd .

Conditional 2nd becomes a 1st if CGY makes WCF
Conditional 3rd becomes a 2nd if Tatar re-signs with CGY

MTL gets a prospect that's a Reclamation Project who can round out our 4th line with Cousins-Thompson giving us a spark plug line with size who can win possesion as all 3 players are capable of faceoffs if ones thrown out . its an ideal DZ line IMO

I think PIT would bite your hand off if you offered that to them minus the retention.

I agree that MTL could get a better offer for Tatar unless you were to increase the offer.
