He doesn’t fit in anymore and isn’t playing well with us.

As a canucks fan, I would swap Stetcher and a 3rd for him.

Not sure that’s enough. He may not be playing well, but he’s young and still has potential.

??? Manson is 28. This is the peak of his prime.

Ducks fans will hate this but at this point ... Ceci in a 1 for 1.

I know it sounds laughable but the cap should ace to find a better Dman might be greater than manson’s Worth to outlet team at this point. He has just not looked good at all.

Only one of the worst d men in the league over the past three years (and, i hate to break it to you leafs fans, but he has been well below average this year) for a guy who while having a down year is still above average (last year doesn't count... The ducks had RC as a coach)... Not to mention they make basically the same, and Manson has more term lmao

So someone who has sucked as much as ceci for this season and last and we are suppose to be happy with more term? Yikes.

My point is that I think there are much better options out there. I just don’t think Manson will find any more success in Toronto’s system.

Because I would rather spend that cap space on a better Dman?

Manson had one great season. Unfortunately he is far removed from that.

Manson has been a good bit above average this year, Ceci... Hasn't... And this is Ceci on a good year, plus two years ago (which isn't unattainable) Manson was really really good...

Well we aren’t using a time machine to make this trade. Would the leafs rather have present day Manson or 4.1m to put towards a better Keep in mind we already have a bottom pair and 2nd pair Dman for next year.

Do you have Manson’s stats for this year? Evolving hockey went with him patron only.

And again... it was one great season.

Of course you're dealing with so many on CapFriendly that think any Dmen especially RHD are so frigging great compared any the Leafs Dmen. Even in LeafLand Barrie has seemed avoided much criticism when his play has been constantly below average, probably worse than Cecis..

Yup. “Manson is playing horrible let’s get rid of him” but you better offer up something based on his performance from years ago. 4.1m is a lot of wasted space. Leafs could certainly add that money and the assets being demanded here for a far better Dman.

Yeah, they're all in the blue by a good margin except GF/60 which is slightly negative

Yeah I was using evolving hockey a lot too lol

His CF% relative is -6.4. For comparison Ceci is -3.3 this year. That’s for hockey reference.

Manson has been poor this season but it’s hard to compare a guy playing against top lines with a guy playing 3rd pair minutes. I don’t think Manson has full confidence in his knee yet and when he gets late in his shift you can see a little hitch in his skating. I still think he’s a #4 shut down guy tho. But yes his value is falling.

Has only been bottom pair for the last 10 games or so. But my argument isn’t ceci is a better player or that ducks should make that trade. Just that if the leafs want to compete for a cup they will need a much better number 1 rhd. That 4.1m is a good starting point to obtain one. The fact that ceci expires next year is what we need.

Ye, Rate adjusted (putting all the data through a ride regression formula) does weird things to it and it's 2-3x better than just raw corsi according to EH
