Blais probably gets more than that.
Dunn gets less term but money seems right on 5 or 6 years.

Reality is Blues dont have cap left to pay Alex, moving deals will cost assets.

Borowiecki just won the lottery ??? jesus lord that contract is terrible. We are talking about a 6-7th defenseman here.

I don't understand the trade for Faulk. I would much rather have spent that 6.5 in trying to retain my captain and top pairing RHD even if he was a couple years older. Just makes no sense to me.

Borowiecki is not worth anything near that value. Ottawa might re-sign him for a leadership role with a slight bump in his current salary but he would be over the moon to get an offer for what you have signed him for hear.

That would be a dream deal to sign Dunn too, but he isn't going to commit to that salary at 8 years. He probably gets that on a 4-5 year deal.

Bozak will cost a decent asset to move.

Doubt it, he’s having a great defensive season and is on pace for 41 points

I agree, do you think they will re sign him though? Have to think if it isn’t done by TDL that maybe he is interested in exploring options.

No idea, but I'd lean yes. I mean, he’s captain, been here his entire career, his wife is from STL, and the Blues as an org are also having a ridiculous run of success with the cup/standings/Allstar game/winter classic next year

Yup, just wondering what the temperature was around that. Weird signing of Faulk and nothing done in the off season is a bit weird. Could just be waiting to see what his injury status and consistency of play would look like this year.

It’s pretty similar to the Andersson and Girard contracts, and Dunn’s better than both of them. That being said, I have a feeling they’ll want to bridge Dunn to keep Aav low so they can sign Pietrangelo this year and then a bunch of guys next year

Dunn will use Krug's deal as a comparable and angle for 5.5-6.0m x 4 years

Nah, it won't be that much on a 4-year contract. At least it shouldn't be. Krug had a career high of 44 points when he signed that contract and that contract bought out some UFA years. Dunn's highs haven't been quite as high and a 4 year contract would walk him to UFA. Probably looking around 4mil on that term, maybe 4.5 max. If we went longer term on him it could creep up in the fives for sure though.
