Description

I was hesitant to buy in to the Strome hype until I saw him play against Colorado last week. He’s had his struggles early on in his career but he seems to be putting things together this season. I think he would fit nicely into Colorado’s forward group. He can be the playmaker for shoot-first guys like Kadri and Burakovsky, and can either play wing in the top six or center the third line to spread out scoring depth.

I think it’s hard to pin a value in Strome. This season has been a huge outlier, but he also has the high draft pedigree. I don’t think any team that trades for him can expect point-per-game production, but probably closer to a 50-60 point player. I’m also not sure that the Rangers should even consider moving him. He could be a long term piece for a team that needs centers, and he clearly fits into their group.

If they were to move him, would Jost+ get the job done?

Due to Strome being an RFA, i think the deal should be structured slightly different. aka instead of all the conditions, give jost and a 2nd.

No, this wouldn’t get it done.

Rangers seem high on Strome. Players like him, coaches like him. RFA, no need to trade. It would need to be a deal they couldn’t turn down. That’s not Jost.

But you can rent Jesper Fast for that offer.

I wouldnt go after Strome, hes having a heck of a year but hes getting played in the top 6 with Panarin as his set it and forget it winger. Jost doesnt move the needle for them to be honest
I think hes a fit in NYC so they would want a heck of a lot to get him out of there based on that production

I would question that continuing in a lesser role.
