Different circumstances. Patrick was still a very good goalie in 1995. He left because of Mario Tremblay and Ronald Corey. The former President didn't have the guts to stand up against Tremblay. Another thing to consider is there were NO SALARY CAP. Trade value would've probably remain the same if Roy made 5M or 15M

Fair point but like I said, Habs didn't have to worry about the salary cap when they traded Roy. Carey Price's 10.5 M cap hit is the main reason he lost a lot of value.
