Why would a rebuilding team want UFA Cody Ceci? Kings are keeping Luff, and not downgrading their picks for Kapanen. They want picks and prospects, not sure the Leafs want to give that up.

Kapanen doesn't fit the Kings anyway. He's too fast and not physical enough.

I would expect a similar package for martinez as the leafs gave for muzzin. which would be a 1st this year, and 2 recent 2nd rounders. since you dont have a first this year... itd probably be something like: sandin and robertson

Ceci is a UFA at the end of the year and the KIngs can just part with him. Kapanen for Martinez seems like a Toronto overpay to me

Decent player. if leafs gave up a 1 first, durzi, and grundstrom for muzzin. you can expect similar going back for martinez. seeing how its the exact same teams in subsequent years. This is a logical trade scenario. You still dont know what sandin is in the nhl. Leafs fans ready to put this guy in the hall after 6 nhl games.

be a very cold day in hell if sandin gets moved anywhere let alone for Martinez, it was an over pay for muzzin, but either way you dont trade your best prospect, for a guy with 2 year left and will be 34 by the end of it vs cost control and high potential. unless your blown away in the offer.

Muzzin was younger and was a better player than Martinez. I’d be thrilled with getting a 1st and B prospect for Martinez. But it’ll most likely be a 2nd and a B prospect. Sandin and Robertson are definitely A level prosoects

Not saying he won’t get traded but it’s insane to think you’re getting two of the leafs top 5 prospects for a 32 year old player. Leafs wouldn’t trade sandin for muzzin. They surely won’t do it for Martinez.
