Chicago can just resign Lehner in the off season. Also the first would be Lottery protected for 1 year. If Toronto wants to pick up a D for the playoff run then Possibly Chicago retains money on Lehner also.

Don't hate him at all. He's the only guy they can move. Everyone thinks about Toronto trades like they are other teams. Everything they do has to start with cap relief. They need pieces and cannot move sub 4 mil contracts to get them or it's a step sideways. Can't move Tavares, Not moving Matthews and Marner would be a much different type of trade. I like Nylander. Toronto hates 7 mil locked up in their 6th best player. Just can't work any other way.
