Embrace Rebuild

Created by: Billy739
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 13, 2020
Published: Jan. 13, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
We take on a lot of players who can help play stop gap until our youth are ready to take on their role's then MTL will trade them hopefully with increased value . In the mean time Lemieux's addition gives fans something positive to come from the Trade of Price .

MTL will sell Petry ,Armia and Danault the season after at the TDL if MTL is still not a playoff team further embracing the rebuild .

after a few years of this most of the older contracts come off the books with Primeau , Poehling , Kotkanemi , Suzuki , Caufield and Romanov all looking to enter their Prime years . plus all the players we'll grab from the draft will be right behind them along with other MTL picks Ylonen, Brook , Harris,Struble,Norlinder and Teasdale .

Price at 7.5m(7y) to NYR for Lundqvist 8.5m(2y)

28/84m of Price's deal is paid already in the first 12 months of the deal.

Price and his wife Angela who are both in business in the #2 markets in the world for their careers join NYR where both can enjoy success in the #1 market for Hockey and Fashion .

MTL covets Lemieux so to avoid giving up picks to get Price's cap within a reasonable range at MTL expense NYR has to offer up a prospect of value that they could live without .(meaning not a top prospect projected to be a regular in the starting line up )

Lundqvist agree's because Managements asked him to waive his NMC multiple times and its gotta begin to be uncomfortable for all involved . NYR want to move on and Hanks been transitioned from starter to tandem and will keep trending down as long as he keeps hanging on despite managements best efforts .

Maybe he's selfish enough to stay in NYR but something tells me after all the support for over a decade he got from NYR Management that he'd understand its time to invest in youth . Lundqvist is a team guy so i just couldnt imagine him standing in the way of his team getting better .

(Hank is better, but that's not the point I'm gonna make, plus the Grubi thing started as a joke bc I was pissed at all the Byram+first+Grubi++ for Price trades a saw, so for each one I saw i was gonna add a >wink

NYR has no reason to do this... They would look to move Hank bc they have two NHL calibre (and young) goalies in the system (plus Wall coming up) and Hank's contact expires in two years, meaning they only have to juggle the goalies for this year and I think one more year, trading for Price would A. Not be helpful bc he's probably gonna be too old for most of the time they'll be ready to compete, and B. Forces them to trade one of their younger (and possibly/probably better if it's Shesty) who actually do fit in with the age group of this team

Before you say that Hank and Georgiev have been sh*t this year, they actually have had THE WORST defense in front of them for the majority of the year and have held their own (and as a pens fan I F*cking hate to say that about a division rival lol)

they should watch price play time to time. heck even look around the league and ask gms/execs/coaches/opposing players about him. there's a reason he's called one of the best in the game

if you wont accept Price having bad D core infornt of him as a factor in his play
how do you justify doing it for hank and expect anyone to take you seriously ?

its odd , sometimes i agree with you and there's others that just make me wonder .
Price went from ECF with two top 10 shot blockers in the NHL , Norris trophy in their top 4 .
Since MTL's had a never ending cycle of players infront of him

agreed but they insist their opinion trumps the professionals as well as the players he considers peers who rank him #1 and the league's toughest goalie to score on .

they pretend as if his talent just dissapeared because our GM sucks at solidifying a top 4 D core .
after fumbling the D core he inherited he's failed to solidify any consistency

The stats don't lie that say Price's defense A. Isn't that bad, and B. EVEN IF YOU TAKE THE DEFENSE OUT OF THE EQUATION HE'S BEEN PLAYING AT THE LEVEL OF AN AT BEST AVERAGE GOALIE...
