Manson is not at all worth what you guys think he's worth. Muzzin didn't get anything close to as good as Elhers and Muzzin was far more accomplished and a lot better.

I think Pittsburgh would rather keep him and let him go to FA then trade him as a cap dump.

Muzzin had one year left and Manson has two years at a lower dollar, has a better contract, Manson is younger and although last year was a dip for him the rest of his career he's been an analytics darling with a 37 point season to boot and he's right-handed. Manson has more value than Muzzin did and WPG is in desperate need of defensemen, especially on the right side.

I just don't know how else they'd make the cap work. Galch wasn't the main part of that trade, he was just a piece to make the cap work.

Winnipeg isn’t trading Ehlers for Manson, maybe Roslovic but definitely not Ehlers.

I hope the Jets aren't that desperate, that's a trade that should get a GM fired.

The better player always has more value. Muzzin is better than Manson. You'll get a fair return but Elhers? Come on, that is not remotely close.

I don't understand why we'd do any of these trade to be honest. Apart from the WPG deal, they're all terrible for us. Meanwhile, the WPG deal is totally unrealistic.

This is all irrelevant really. Ehlers is a proven 30-30 winger who is no slouch defensively either. On top of that, he only seems to be getting better. No way Manson gets us Ehlers. WPG would want someone who could carry their line. At best we'd be looking at Fowler, but he's too old now.

Manson is better than Muzzin.

Only since he became a Leaf. Prior to him becoming a Leaf, he was considered a great defensive defenceman, top pair defender who also scored close to .5 points per game. He becomes a Leaf and now everyones better than him. Manson isn't better defensively than Muzzin, not close to as good as offensively. I don't get Ducks fans on here, you know there is no crime in being just a good player, you don't have to go overboard and tell yourself that he's an elite #1 worth a pile of assets. Use the Muzzin trade and then take some of the return out and that will be a reasonable expectation. The Manson for Nylander, or Manson for a 1st and A+ prospect, or Manson for Elhers nonsense just makes you guys look silly.

Manson is a 2nd/3rd Dman. Manson has been better than Muzzin defensively for the majority of the last 4 years. Points for a defenseman aren't usually a great indicator of their skill as a defenseman. A lot of those points were byproducts of him playing with Doughty.

He played with Martinez as much as he played with Doughty and the results showed that both players where better when paired with Muzzin and worse when they weren't with him. Manson has never been as good as Muzzin and apart from his terrific season 2 years ago, he hasn't been anything special. This is pretty much how people on are here, "I want people to think a certain way and will say anything to prove my point even if its just made up and if I say it enough it'll be true." I prefer to live in reality. Muzzin is better, was better and has always been better.
