I don’t necessarily get how you think that’s possible for a guy who clearly wants out.

I don’t understand why Red Wings fans think Anthansiou is worth Galchenyuk, a first & a top prospect like Poulin. He is only worth a little bit more than Galchenyuk because he’s RFA.

I feel like Galchenyuk and the third makes sense cause it’s extra compensation plus it gives Detroit another top 100 draft pick in the midst of a rebuild. You might know this better than I do but they’ve been scratching athanasiou right?

This is what they will get for him. It's the price yzerman set. Why do they want a ufa and a 3rd. They are getting a 2nd and a prospect. You don't like it move on to someone else

Shows how little you know about Detroit. His big issue was with Holland. Yzerman reached out to him in the offseason and assured him his previous hold out wouldn't be a factor since it was under old management. Galchenyuk won't resign in Detroit so he has 0 value to the Wings making this is an awful deal for Detroit.

It's not about AA being worth more than Galchenyuk but he is a UFA and won't resign in Detroit. While AA is an RFA for 2 more seasons so there is no need to trade him his value is at its lowest. Plus if Galchenyuk is so much better why trade him for AA? Yzerman in an interview on Friday said "At this point it doesn't make sense to trade assets but we are going to continue to build through the draft and free agency. If you want to watch the interview it is on Fox Sports Detroit site.

He's not been getting scratched lmao. He's hurt right now. He doesn't "clearly want out". There has been absolutely nothing to indicate Athanasiou wants out. And this trade makes no sense for Detroit because Galchenyuk is an UFA, compared to AA who is an RFA. No doubt Galchenyuk will at least test the free agent market in the summer, and if he leaves then we traded AA for a rental we absolutely don't need, and a 3rd.

I don’t think Anthansiou would not be a good fit for Mike Sullivan’s Pittsburgh Penguins. He’s fast and can score but he doesn’t play with enough aggressiveness & tenacity. Plus his defensive game stinks. He’d be put in Sully’s doghouse as well.

Who ever said that AA is worth Galchenyuk a first a top prospect? No one ever said that. Yzerman set the bar for AA for a 2020 2nd round pick+b level prospect probably a LHD prospect as our LHD is getting shallow here.

laugh You honestly think that AA whom still has 2 years of control, Is only worth a pending UFA in Galchenyuk whom in no way resigns with Detroit plus a 3rd round pick. That's a total joke. Honestly Pittsburgh doesn't have the pieces to get AA Yzerman wants a top LHD prospect and a 2nd and Pittsburgh's 2nd is closer to a 3rd round pick. Hell No.

What? Where did you here he wants out? I live here in the Detroit area and have not heard that, what source are you getting this from?

I understand he is having a bad year. Truly believe he was injured at start of the season and has never recovered this year. Chucky is a UFA at seasons end and will walk, plus he can not get on the top 2 lines even though they have a ton of injuries. This tells me he is not a hard worker which Yzerman wants nothing g to do with, his words.

Wings in no shape to sell low.

It's not just AA last season after 46 games Detroit had 128 goals for and 158 goals against. This season Detroit has 99 goals for and 174 against. Detroit's goal differential has gone from -30 to -75 the league average 138 GF and 138 GA. Detroit has played like 15 different defense men this season. Offense starts in the D zone right? How can the defensemen get any chemistry when they are playing with a different partner almost every game.
