The Kings can do better than an ECHL defenseman for Hutton. Someone will give up a 4th or 5th round pick for defensive depth.

This is potentially a high scoring defensive prospect, but he will need time to mature. This offers the leafs a short term fix for someone to eat 15-20 min. without them giving up too much cap space.

Clearly. All I see from his stats are that he spent the season in the ECHL. He's not that fantastic or he wouldn't be on the block for Hutton as a rental.

Is Hutton fantastic? Also he has been moved to the marlies. We just have an abundance of Dmen in the minors. He’s on par with Hollowell.

No, he's not fantastic. "Good" would even be a stretch. He's a decent cheap option for a team looking for defensive depth. Like I said, he's worthy of a mid-to-late round draft pick. However, I think the Kings would prefer the pick so they can look to fill holes in their organizational depth rather than taking an undrafted 22 year-old propsect that spent most of his professional career in the ECHL.
