Team: 2019-20 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 13, 2020
Published: Jan. 13, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Certainly may be creating just as many issues but this team won't be celebrating anything anyways.

Incidentally, I do like Getzlaf and have wanted him on the Hawks for a number of years. I have not looked to see how Anaheim would manage their cap by adding a signed DeBrincat and RFA Strome. I believe they also have dead cap hit in Perry's buyout.

Maybe an overpayment for TVR. Perhaps only one pick going to Carolina.

As far as next season, Lehner most likely would be gone with Getzlaf arriving. Crawford could be signed for no more than $3M/1 yr. Kubalik for another cap friendly bridge deal as well. (Shinpads bought out, and if lucky Seabs retires with his $6.9M hit gone too. If the latter is the case, maybe Lehner is brought back for $6+M and no Crow.). Cap ceiling at $84M for 20-21.

Where to start, like really two young players in Debrincat and Strome for Getzlaf, you do realize Getzlaf isn't 25 anymore yeah?... Lol

Out of curiosity, what would be fair value for Dylan Strome? I wouldn't mind him in Ottawa if the price was right.

You'd be giving up one of your 1sts for him. He's 22 years old coming off a 51 point season last year and on pace for 60 points this year. He's still 3+ years away from his ceiling and nobody knows what that will eventually look like. Highly doubt the hawks are willing to part with him given that he is so young and they are rebuilding on the fly.

Holy crap that Anaheim trade. Almost had a heart attack. You've heard it already, but what GM in their right mind would trade two top 6 forwards under 23 who are coming off of 0.9 Pts/Game seasons for an almost 35 year old?

That's what I figured. I always see hawks fans complaining about him, so I was wondering if he could be made available. If a 1st is a dealbreaker though, it makes way more sense for Ottawa to find a centre with one of those picks.

I was thinking something along the lines of Tierney, L.Brown and a 2nd. Hawks get a warm body for the NHL who is good for 40 points, a big, highly skilled centre prospect struggling to crack the team that drafted him (sound familiar? Lol), and a 2nd.

A trade between Anaheim and Chicago? Let alone possibly the best young duo in the NHL for a guy in his last 3-5 years of playing in the NHL? AND ALSO ITS GETZLAF?!?!? I hate the ducks and I hate Getzlaf even more! He's just a worse version of Jonathan Toews! Get outta here bro

We have a Getzlaf type player in Dach, that is his ceiling so we don't have to trade 2 key young pieces for that.

The CAR and TOR trades just are not worth it for the hawks.

Love the hate, all of you. I guess losing doesn't bother anybody anymore, hey?! There is a good possibility the CBH miss the playoffs these last four years of THE contracts, even with the "best young duo" in the league. I truly understand the negative replies (deserved!) but wth.
