Boston trade in our favour, they decline

Ritchie + Manson doesn't get us Nylander

COL trade doesn't seem awful to me but I'm not sure

NYI might bite on that

I agree mostly with this. BOS and TOR say "no". NYI might bite. The COL deal is really bad for us. Silfverberg is worth Timmins + 1st alone and Sprong isn't a throw away.

I'm not familiar enough with Timmins to give a solid opinion here. 100% agree Sprong is not a throw away though

Timmins is a solid prospect probably 1 more season in the AHL before he makes the jump to the NHL but could make the move this season. He holds his own on the back not making any defensive mistakes and has lots of offensive upside; he has great hands and will skate the puck out of the zone. He is exactly what we need for a RD to quarterback the PP.

Yeah, in the AHL. The NHL is a totally different game though and there is no guarantee his skills will translate. In fact, I have no doubt he'll go through some significant growing pains. There is still a big question mark over whether Timmins will even be a consistent NHLer. In any event, his upside is low. He'll probably turn out as you say, a bottom pairing PP specialist. I guess with the 1st attached that's not a bad return for Silfverberg, but it's not good either.... and that's before you add Sprong, who by all accounts is making good progress and learning to be more than just a floater with a good shot. Personally, I'd want someone with some top 4 potential + for Silfverberg. He's a quality winger and, given his strong defensive game, the perfect addition for a team looking to compete. He'd be ideal in STL or BOS IMO.
