I think you need to find a way to shed Djoos and Panik so that Alexeyev and Leason can mature. Protas and McMichael are 2 more years away but Brett Leason will be competing for a full time spot next year. I think Jensen can maybe turn it around but there is no ice time for Djoos.

You could always start on the 4th line and not sign archibald, or roll all 4 lines

Few thoughts
1) solid job
2) capitals have a lot of guys who are close or already nhl ready. We don’t need djoo and Gudas both signed. Ferv and Alexeyev are both ready. Leason should make this team next year or maybe mcmichael. No need to sign Arch. Capitals need to love Pánik or Jensen.
3) Luca for Evans?

I wonder if McMichael is truly 2 years out. His style fits in well with the modern NHL, and he's having really good showings at the World Juniors and in the juniors. If anything Leason is probably a year or two out from making the NHL squad. He only has 9 points in 35 games this season, and I'd think that GMBM would want to see at least close to a PPG in an offensive heavy AHL before you consider him NHL ready. It's better for him to get top six minutes in Hershey than fourth line minutes in the NHL.

I agree, I don't think we keep Djoos. Qualifying him is too expensive for a 7th or 8th defenseman, and we have a lot of organizational depth at LHD. Problem is, I don't think there's going to be a ton of value coming back for him in a trade. I guess you get what you can get and non-tender him. Best case scenarios are we get a 4th-6th rounder for him, or we non-tender him and re-sign him next summer for 800-900k.

Mcmichael is either nhl or juniors again and that’s actually worse for his development

I'd rather keep Ikonen. He's been great whenever he plays, just can't stay healthy.
