If Carolina goes for Brodin I think Bokk is the prospect most likely to be moved

Remember when we discussed Nino a while back before a trade? I see a clear fit with Carolina. I think what you’d see is assets and a younger player like Fleury for Brodin, not a high profile prospect.

Something like a 2nd which is conditional based on Canes going to cup final (could move to lottery protected 1st) and Fleury for Brodin.

See I disagree, Brodin may be stuck behind Suter on the Wild and would be stuck behind Slavin on the Canes but on most other teams he's a top pairing quality player. That takes a high return, especially when you listen to that clip and hear that a lot of teams are after him (basically Guerin could have a bidding war if he'd like). If you re-read your thread, look at what others are saying. The Muzzin trade is a perfect mold for a Brodin trade, although I do like Brodin more than I would Muzzin. The Wild have zero need for more defenseman, so scrap Fleury or any other D/D prospects that Carolina might have. A conditional first wouldn't cut it IMO, it would have to just be a 1st + prospect(s). The Wild's #1 need is a center with potential and that is why I think Necas would be the target for the Wild. I'm sure he is prized in Carolina, though, so if the Wild are doing a Brodin for Necas deal the Wild likely add something of value and the Canes add salary. Brodin is a hidden gem in Minnesota and it seems that GM's across the league are finally realizing it

Necas hasn’t been playing center, and it’s looking more and more likely he’s a play making RW at the NHL level. He’s no longer a prospect, he’s a full fledged NHL top 9 Player already, with the potential to be a top line RW and PP monster in 2-3 years.

Fleury is in desperate need of a change of scenery and a shot to be getting regular ice time. Now if the argument is that the Canes would need to add something, then that’s fine. I think a solid AHL prospect C like Kuokkanen could be had. Also a player like Gauthier would be a discussion but that would negate the upside if a pick as Gauthier is raising in our system. Also don’t forget the Canes have a plethora of picks as well.

Well the Wild do still need a right shot wing tears of joy but if there's absolutely zero way we are getting Necas in a Brodin trade then I'd rather just do straight picks. Something along the lines of 2020 1st + 2020 3rd

That’s a possibility - but we are right back to moving out a defenseman. The Canes would have to move Fleury, TVR, or Edmundson to a 3rd team first.

Could always try to slip a high cap player like Edmundson through waivers, too

I'm not sure we need a right shot RW. Necas would be behind Zuccarello and Fiala on the RW. Kunin isn't working out at center, so Necas would have to play center here.

Not a right wing, just a right shot wing. We could try moving Fiala to the left or Necas at center, either work.

Hrm, but if we move Fiala to LW, then we've got him, Parise, and Kaprizov there next year. Doesn't that just make our LW logjam worse if Necas is on either wing?

I really think we have to focus on guys who can play center like RNH. If Necas is a C, then I'd be OK trading Brodin for him.

How about Brodin and Donato for Necas?

For the record, Brodin is everything @TanSor said he is...maybe even more. I would even argue he has been the Wild’s best defenseman, if not best player this year. I think Necas is a very special talent too... so a 1:1 swap certainly isn’t out of the question.

Kaprizov plays RW primarily but has played on the left, but the problem you pointed out would still exist. I agree though, a center makes the most sense for us to go after as we're bursting with wing talent.

Lately I've also been "scouting" Kuhan and Lafferty on the Penguins. I think we could get either of them and a pick for Zucker.

I'd do that if the pick is a 1st. Rutherford obviously loves Zucker since Zucker has been linked to Pittsburgh for 8 months or so now. I think moves are on the horizon...

Edit: Hallander also intrigues me a lot

I don't think so. He is definitely our most skilled forward and he has been on a tear since his first 8 games of the season. 25 points of his 26 points have been scored in his last 34 games. Not gamebreaking numbers by any means but for how bad this team has been that is relatively impressive. Given his age I bet he'd be a major overpay for anyone that wants him.

Fair enough. Price for Zucker and price for Staal?

Zucker probably a 1st, a B-C grade prospect, and maybe a later pick like a 4th or 5th (similar to the JT Miller trade). Staal probably a 1st straight up or a 2nd and a B prospect.

JTM seems like a good comp. A lottery protected 1 would suffice right?

Preferably no, but it might be necessary if it's to a bubble team
