Rangers jump all over that but you obv cant make it work this year by buying smith out mid season.

dillon is a ufa you would only be trading rights at that point and even then there really isnt a whole lot of rights there to trade. since he could refuse to come to the table till after free agency started anyways.

No way San Jose thinks about that trade. No valuable pieces are going back the other way.

The Barrie trade is insane. Honka couldn't beat out Roman Polak for a job last year. Now we are trading Tyson Barrie for him and a draft pick? That makes our team a heck of a lot worse for this season, and Honka is closer to Connor Carrick then Tyson Barrie.

Don't see this team in a playoff spot by TD if you guys don't get immediate help on the blueline.

the Barrie trade is required to
a) clear cap space
b)get a pick/prospect
c) open space for Deangelo (this year and forward)

pretty sure SJ would accept 2 3rds a puck moving LHD and a size RHD prospect for a bottom 6 player and walk year d-man

dillon has been playing top pair with EK. where are you getting this 4-6 from? hes a top 4 LD and works QUITE WELL with offensive defenseman.

ok, by that logic Ceci has been playing top pair too, doesn't make him a 1-3 D-man

BD is at best a 2nd pair LHD who will PK, and clear the net, and cover for his partners defensive zone gaffes (deangelo)
McQuaid got a 4+7th
Beaulieau got a 6th rd
Lovejoy got a 3 + Carrick
....... so if one of the picks turns into a 2nd (based on TML playoff run) and SJ sends back a 5 i'm sure both parties will be ok with that

because they were journeymen defensemen and also didnt include a backup goalie? youre comparing a toyota prius or for fusion to a bmw... not top of the line but its a step up from the rest of those names by far.
