Wings decline. Rebuilding teams don’t trade picks and young talent for expiring contracts. Not to mention B’s are not trading Krug in season.

Kings trade is bad for Boston and Kings don’t want Backes contract. With his NTC he is going nowhere unless he is feeling generous anyway. Bad team on the west coast is a no fly zone. Only real chance of moving him in season is likely Minny. And that is assuming they are on his list. Anyone else on his 8 team list won’t want him.

You're gonna trade away Krug when the B's look like legit cup contenders?
Also, I dont see why Detroit gives up anything for a chance to sign Krug when they can just target him in the offseason

Krug is not getting traded. If by some chance he is, it would be to a playoff team.

He is playing in Boston or Detroit next year unless some team makes a huge mistake. Like 9m+ per season. I don't see that happening.

Toffoli - Rumor is they have a deal if they want it, and the package you are giving up is way too much. Even with the ditching of Backes' contract. Which they also don't need to do. They don't need 8m in cap space this year. (Frederic straight up would get you Toffoli OR the 2nd - not both). Don't give away Lauko, kid will be good.

Lol and detriot is already the next most likely team to sign Krug (hometown discount)... So yeah good call bad trade.

The kings trade is great for the bruins though, Kings probably decline

Yes, but Backes is a dump, so essentially it is:

Backes contract for the price of Lauko (for the kings to take on 6 million on Backes it should cost the bruins more)
and
toffoli for Frederik and a 2nd (for a rental this is just about perfect)

I can confidently say the bruins are probably paying too little, not much, but it definitely benefits the bruins

man, im sorry but as a fan ide rather stash backes in providence rest of year gain 1.1m in cap relief and buy him out in the offseason after seidenberg and beleskey cap hits are up than trade any of lauko/frederic/zboril/lauzon/senyshyn/studnicka/shen/steen with him.

Thats totally fair, I wouldnt be against giving up zboril. I love lauko too, but I do think people dont see a lot of these bruins prospects at the level that we see them frown ... idk lol

In saying that, I wanna trade backes, but theres gotta be a better way to do it

the problem with trading any of our farm, (according to the athletic's scott wheeler... so grain of salt) we have the 30th out of 31 farm systems in the league. we really cant afford to send more of that out lol.

Lol i guess thats my point in a sense too. For the bruins, people dont really see any of their prospects as "good", like at all lol. Thats why they r 30th. Its not about the amount, its about the quality. So by giving up one of our "meh" prospects to make space for better players, it might be the best move to just go for it.

In saying all of that. 30th is, without a doubt, a terrible ranking for their prospects. Lauko (despite being a 3rd rounder) has become a top 9 potential player. Studnicka is gonna be top 6 very soon. Urho is gonna be a top 4 dman soon. Keyser was literally the top 3 OHL goalie last year and is playing fairly well this year (considering its his first pro season). Zboril and Senyshyn are both "busts" according to many, but Senyshyn played very well in his few NHL games this season. I could go on and on

TSN had them 26th. Any way you look at it there is no depth in the org. It’s one of the shallowest prospect pools in the league. They have 3 premium prospects 1 or 2 good ones and the rest are just cannon fodder, hope 1 or 2 turn into the something usable. That being the case trading away a few them now is not going to hurt. As long as they hold onto the top 5 or 6. If you do trade one of those it can’t be for a rental...even to dump Backes.

26 isnt even that bad I suppose, granted that they had a 3 year rebuild and went from a cup contender in 2013 (still playoffs in 2014) to missing the playoffs for two year to (still playoffs in 2017) and cup contender in 2019 lol ... I mean thats a good quick rebuild
Yeah its not deep, I just hate people trying to underrate everyone. Oskar Steen was a 6th round pick, and is actually a fairly decent prospect now. Bruins have a history of developing players well (Marchy, Bergy, and Pasta as a LATE first rounder)... I wish people understood this more.
