Description
What is Kubalik?
I know the last few games he might just be in a hot streak but is he just a middle six forward who is hot or can he become a true top 6 forward for the hawks.
I have watched a lot of him on the ice and he has that ability to always be in the right spot both on offense and defense. Is this another Richard Panik situation where it is a forward who can score with Toews but really isn’t a top 6 kind of guy or is this closer to a younger Brandon Saad in someone who can play all lines but put on the top line can be a solid top line winger?

I know people won’t agree with me on this but he kind of reminds me a lot of TJ Oshie a bit. I know not a great comparison but that’s who I see.

What do you all think and what do you think is a good comp?

Also thoughts in my lines below once everyone is healthy
I’m not putting in Shaw Seabrook or De Hann because I think all three may be done for good

Last question - what the hell do we do with Nylander?

Well I hope Kubalik isn’t Panik....

The thing with Kubalik is that he’s looked good all year. Remember at the start of the season how the Saad-Kampf-Kubalik line was tearing the house down? Everywhere he’s been in the lineup, he’s excelled.

I don’t remember Panik too too well (my first season really watching the Hawks was the year we was traded), but to me, Kubalik seems like more of a complete offensive player and I think he’s could be a top-6 forward going forward. Maybe I’m totally wrong in this assessment, but he’s impressed me all year. Not gonna let that stop just because he’s scoring in bunches.

He has the talent to prove himself being a top 6 player, still "only" 24, if he avoids injuries, he can be consistent 60-80 points player with good teammates (I hope, lol grin )

Kubalik from all accounts is a lot like Saad. Responsible in his own end yet I think his offence could be better then Saads.

I think he will do well for us. My hope is Bowman doesn't have a brain snap idea and go and trade him like he did with Kahun last year.

As for Nylander, that is really tough. I want him to do well and I think there is potential in there, He can skate, he has good size and can handle the puck. He needs consistent application and to ensure he keeps a good attitude to be a good NHLer and if he can do that then he can become a good forward for us that could contribute but that won't be this year by the looks.
