I don’t think the Isles can afford to trade Boychuk right now

True but if it for were Zucker and Koivu I feel like it would be worth it

Agreed with not being able to trade Boychuk right now. With Pelech out it doesn't make sense, coupled with him being Dobson's steady partner. It would also be bad for the team to lose Boychuk's leadership.

If Minnesota agreed to take Ladd's contract and Minnesota doesn't retain on Koivu, that's a different story.

Cost to dump Ladd might be a little too high here. As a Wild fan, with how many years Ladd has left at that cost, I'd want at least Wahlstrom added in there or another 1st, but isn't worthwhile for NYI at that point. Dumping Ladd would open up room to make another big move near the deadline, though.

Well yeah, I wouldn't expect the Wild to take on Ladd. Maybe Hickey? But I don't know if the salary would work on NYI's side as easily.

If Minnesota would agree to take Ladd I think Lou would buy his plane ticket out to St. Paul himself
