Cant hire Gallant if you are going to play the kids

Created by: TMarch
Team: 2020-21 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 15, 2020
Published: Jan. 15, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If you hire Gallant, he will want a veteran laden squad, hence the current VGK team (5th oldest team in NHL despite being only 2+ years old, DET is 3rd oldest). DET needs to shed bad contracts and get some of the kids playing.

If you are looking to move from Blash (and if you think Blash is the reason why this team is bad, you don't know much about hockey), you'll need someone that will want to grow with the kids. If Stevie moves from Blash, I bet you look at Benoit Groulx (who he hired in TBL to run the Syracuse Crunch) as the most logical replacement. Younger coach, knows how to win with kids, Stevie knows him.

All trades at 2020 TDL.

Vegas purposefully hired Gallant to work with a rebuilding team; the team simply ended up being a contending team. He has a track record of success with rebuilding teams. If you do not like him or think another coach would be better, fine. But this reasoning makes little sense for why DET should not hire him.

Gallant to Seattle. Calling it right now. On his business card, it will read, Gerard Gallant, Expansion Team Whisperer.
