Possibly... Even without Leddy, Greiss, Clutter****, Komarov (whom NYR wanted to sign when he was a UFA), etc, the Isles (like NYR) are a young team who's players are mostly trending towards improving rather than declining. Also Trots is a great coach, so even without said mentioned players the Isles might not regress. But dude! Barzal and Pulock should have been signed already because if left unsigned into the offseason, it's very possible they will both be given offer sheets that will be very difficult for the Isles to match.

two players from the same team have never been given an offer sheet in the same offseason. Offersheets rarely happen. Laine, Connor, tkachuk, rantanen , point, Marner all didn't sign till the summer - so its fine for other teams to wait till the offseason to sign their RFA's, but not the islanders?

“Analytics don’t apply to strome because I don’t want them to and it doesn’t support my argument” seems rational bud. We’re really using +/- to evaluate a player in 2020? XGA is an isolated metric so it doesn’t matter who he plays with! He’s not good defensively on the rangers and he’s never been good defensively at any time during his career. By the way, he played with anders lee and Brock Nelson, who are both top 6 players , so not sure what you’re talking about.

Analytics is just information, it’s nothing complex and it applies to every player whether you like it or not

If Strome was centring Nelson and Lee, look how well they both did as Strome as their centre. Soooo obviously Strome is as important to Panarin as Panarin is to Strome. And you're an idiot if you judge Strome by his analytics before joining the Rangers. And for the record, you're the one saying Strome's analytics with the Rangers don't apply because you don't want them too. Keep comparing Strome to his analytics prior to the NYR's while everyone else with half a brain can see they no longer apply to his game. You're just a bitter Islanders fan who hates the Rangers more than he likes the Islanders.

That's because most teams are not stupid enough to leave their two best players unsigned. The players you mentioned all play for teams players desire playing for much more than they do in Long Island. That's why you lost Tavares for absolutely nothing. Yeah, keep believing Barzal and Pulock would never want to play anywhere else except Long Island. The corruption, the traffic, the superficial mentality, etc, etc, etc, yeah keep believing they would never sign an offer sheet to play anywhere else.

What are you talking about? I'm saying stromes analytics say he's been bad defensively his entire career! Before he was with the rangers he was bad, and nothings changed now! If you go look at twitter and type in "Strome defensively" its mostly rangers fans criticizing Strome for being horrible defensively - it's just a fact.

Actually more players have Winnipeg on their no trade lists than the NYI. Connor and laine (who was rumored to want out of WPG) didn't sign till the end of the summer. Like I said pulock grew up an islanders fan , he's on the top pairing of a winning team, he plays for one of the best coaches in the NHL (who happens to be from the same town he grew up in dauphin Manitoba). Im sure pulock is just waiting to sign an offer sheet!

corruption, Superficial mentality, buddy what are you talking about lmao

What are you talking about... The analytics totally changed and that's why your comparing Strome prior to NYR compared to the analytics now. And those tweets are probably Islanders fans pretending to be Rangers fans because there are very few people discussing the Islanders.

Connor and Laine were both unsigned until the summer, does that make the Jets stupid? No

Connor and Laine are both wingers. Barzal is a centre and Pulock is a d-man. Which makes the Isles incredibly stupid for leaving them unsigned.

If this were any other team you wouldn’t be trying this hard to make a dumb argument. Provorov was left unsigned in the offseason, are the Flyers stupid, well yes but not because of that

"Trying this hard to make a dumb argument." Seriously? The conversation you jumped into was mostly about an Islanders fan making a dumb argument about Strome. But fine, at least if you lose Barzal and/or Pulock the Isles will at least get some draft picks. Unlike Tavares where the Isles got absolutely nothing.

The islanders owners have a ton of money and will not lose another franchise center. What you don’t get is that the isles hold the leverage. Even if both were given an offersheet , there are moves to be made to fit them under the cap. I know you have a big ego and can’t accept the fact that you’re wrong. Rangers had to make a trade (vesey) AND buyout shattenkirk (which was a mistake because you’re f*cked next season with 6.1 cap hit when the player isn’t even on your roster ?)

Ego and right or wrong have nothing to do with this... I'm just pointing out what might happen because Barzal and Pulock are unfathomably still unsigned. It's your pride, ego, and hatred for the Rangers that's making you blind to reality. The Rangers got a 3rd round pick for Vesey, I'm very happy happy with this trade. Also the Rangers don't miss Shattenkirk in the slightest. Shattenkirk is not nearly as good as Trouba, Fox, and DaAngelo. Shattenkirk would have just taken playing time away from players better than him on the depth chart. Do you expect a Rangers fan to be upset that our young players are playing so well that Shattenkirk was no longer needed?

Peasant? Are there still lots of "peasants" working the farm land of Long Island and are Long Island surfers are called surfs? And if you read other posters on this site, you're the only one commenting about Trump tweets.

The Islanders are the least penalised team in the NHL by a ridiculous margin... This is the only reason your team is in the playoff picture. Blaming the refs for last nights loss only further shows how ungrateful Islanders fans truly are.

You had to buyout shattenkirk to fit in panarin. It only saved you cap space for one season, next season he’ll be one of your highest paid defenseman, but he won’t be on the roster - sucks to suck!

By the way, shattenkirk is having a better year than trouba!

It gives me a lot of joy to see rangers fans comment on deangelos tweets saying it’s hard to root for a team that has a “bigot” on the team. ? I love it -
