Doubtful, I bet they can't take on that many contracts.

Nothing coming back impresses ne too much, but I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t look up the prospects.

I still believe in Nylander and in my personal opinion he is off the table.

If you want Gus a 2nd and a 4th plus Ceci should be fine,

Ceci isn't garbage and he's far more valuable to TO this season than Gus would be. Gus will be a target for teams with no LHD depth and could use a PP QB, beyond that, he doesn't have much value. With TO's depth on the left side, Marincin is a far better option than Gus. I know that seems wild to think about but despite Marincin's faults, he is a terrific penalty killer, that is something TO needs more than offense. Especially considering, Dermott, Rielly, Muzzin and Sandin are significantly better than Gus.

I understand and 100% agree with all the pints you made; however, I am a leaf fan of the mind that nothing we do this season in trade will make a big enough difference to change our lack of defensive defencemen talent. I am off the mindset that TOR does one thing better then anyone else & that’s kill people with offence. It may not be pretty but it’s worked and been fully embraced by Keefe. I have no problem getting guys like Gustafson. We need real NHL talent when everyone is healthy. No offence to the bottom pair we have now in TOR but in 90% of teams in the NHL they are either in the AHL or are a 7th man that plays 10-20 games a year

TO is going to outscore teams more often than not at 5v5 even with the lineup they have now. Muzzin is back next week, and that will probably mean Sandin gets sent down. I would take Muzzin, Dermott and Marincin (a defensive defenceman, although not the greatest but fine in a pinch) over Gus all year long. I'd take Sandin over Gus forever, where would he fit? Why would it ever be worthwhile to get him for him to be #6 on our depthchart for only LHD. Marincin is a good depth guy to have and honestly with how many minutes the 4th line gets some games, I'd rather run 7 defenceman and keep Marincin in the lineup to kill penalties. He's extremely good at that.

Like I said, Nylander is off the table. If you guys want Gus it can be done for a 2nd and a 4th. Ceci or not makes no difference to me.

I would hold onto Nylander as well, I am not sure he'll ever amount to much but its worth the gamble, especially since you gave up so much to get him. As for Gus, I can't fathom any reason why TO would want him. He doesn't offer anything that TO needs, the number of left handed defenceman on TO that are better or more usefull in regards to team needs is a long list.

I am alone in the Chicago fan base, but I really do think he is going to turn out well. He is frustrating, but when he plays well he is too tantalizing to give up on.

Reminds me of his brother, Willy should be absolutely dominant but at times just doesn't have the drive that would turn him from a borderline elite player into an absolute beast. When Willy is on, he's so fast, so elusive, so strong on the puck and just scary good offensively. Unfortunately that isn't always the case, hopefully they both figure out how to turn it on and keep it on.
