Probably because he is overrated. If he wasn't the size of a skyscraper with a 25ft reach, he would be an average skilled defenseman in the league. He's not blowing anyone's mind with the numbers he puts up. I'm not saying he isn't a good player. I just don't know why people think he's amazing and should be in the HHoF?

Well, first off, he’s a first ballot hall of famer. There’s absolutely no question of that. He was a dominant defensemen in the league for a decade, and has preposterous longevity. For a solid stretch in boston, when he and Seidenberg were on the ice, you just couldn’t score against the bruins.

As for your, “he’s only good because he’s tall,” comment: If it weren’t for McDavid’s speed, he wouldn’t be the dominant force he is. Well, he’s fast. Chara’s tall. He was dominant.

Because he's a solide tall physical guy, who gived some ''dangerous'' hit sometime, often because of his height. I put ''dangerous'' in quotes, because some of his hit are/was more dangerous just because he's 6'9, if he was 6'0, some of his ''dangerous'' hit will be perfectly ok.

I think he’s a gentle giant honestly. When he wants to terrorize people he does. He could cleanly injure a guy every night if he wanted to.
