Flyers seem to have wingers, don't really think need Kapanen. Flyers might like the long term value in RHD Myers. Leafs like the trade , thinking Leafs depth on wing can overcome the loss of Kapanen.

Maybe everyone should have listened to me when I was making trades for him before he hit the league. Knew he would be good,

Good point, that they have good wingers like JVR Konecny Voracek Giroux and Lindblom, But Kap is a good replacement since you’re best wingers besides those 5 Are Raffl, Stewart, Pitlick, Farabee, they could use a good winger who can play 2nd line
As I see it
Giroux Couturier Konecny
Voracek Hayes Kapanen
JVR Laughton Raffl
Stewart Bunnaman and Pitlick
Yea they have quite a bit of Wingers but I feel like Kapanen will to better with Phili then in Toronto has
Yea it’s gone be Trouble when Lindblom returns, most likely I see a Deal that gets Either JVR Or Voracek out

Oh I was on board! After I saw him in the world Juniors? I have loved his game! He is the ultimate partner for Rielly!

You mention Vorachek and JVR. Those cap hits seem difficult to trade without taking similar back in a trade. Wonder if other teams value those players and their full 4 and 3 year deals as good.
Hayes another player on a long term contract.....he's seem a solid 45 maybe 50 point but at 7.2m?

I bet JVR would get some attention. I think he could be an amazing 3rd liner for years to come on some teams that have some cap space. That could clear up some space and still get assets back.

I think the problem with expecting a good return for JVR is countered by his salary. Other teams just might say, I'm not giving up assets for him. I can spend 7m elsewhere and not give up assets.
Right now, I teams might be really paranoid trading for long term cap. Last summer we saw a waive of new found RFAs getting close and even UFA money. Many teams might just want to sign their own guys which might take till September. Only then will they know how much cap they have left over.

The more I think about this I wonder if you would almost certainly move Ceci. He doesn't have a place in the lineup very soon.

Once fully healthy you would want to run something like

Rielly - Myers
Muzzin - Holl
Dermot - Barrie

And honestly if possible I would want Marincin as the 7th defenceman. He is such a good penalty killer and that is a pretty good tool.

Great for the leafs but flyers are thin on rhd. Doubt they make this trade.

What about the Islanders trading Komarov and a 2nd and maybe no sang for JVR? The Islanders need another scorer and Komarov is a bad contract so it's kind of like a net increase of 4.5 and that's a pretty sweet number for JVR. If it costs a 2nd and a disgruntled possible reclamation project, it's a pretty sweet deal.

You’re not getting Myers... unless... offersheet? They aren’t exactly rich with cap space.

Yep that's the type of trade that Flyers might do.....if they value the 4m cap space saving between Komarov and JVR. IMO HoSang doesn't have value and even the second rounder is a distant help if at all. It's the 4m cap space, can they put that to good use. As you suggest the Isles like the deal

Glad you mentioned Marincin. With steady ice time since the Muzzin went down Marincin has being OK. So has Ceci.
Muzzin is do back soon. How do all those LHD fit in ? Muzzin, Dermot, Marincin, and does Sandin stay a Leaf? Does any of the LHD switch to right side and replace one of the more shaky Barrie, Ceci or Holl?

It's good questions but I think if you have Myers, then you can have Holl back with Muzzin who looked really good together. Then you can give a lot of offensive zone draws to Barrie and Dermott and Rielly and Myers is the other shut down pair. I love it! And it saves a year of ELC for Sandin! It's brilliant! I will pay Kapanen and more to make this happen. I am going to email both teams front offices and make a career altering move happen out of this! Just kidding but I like to dream sometimes.

That looks like a pretty cost efficient RHD for next year Myers, Holl and Liljegren. And the LHD Reilly, Dermot, Sandin and Marincin. Still have cap to make further upgrades. Gee those seven cost less than just a bit more Trouba and Stall., less than Burns and Karlsson. I'm shutting down for the night. I'm expect to see the trade announced as I wake up to the morning radio, thanks to the email you are sending tonight.

Well this trade will not happen. Flyers have nothing in the way of young rhd prospects etc... literally zero.

But... you did mention NYI who have my 2nd choice. Mayfield. They need scoring and have young rhd to move in.

It's a great Leafs team at least! I definitely think Kappy is expendable, though he is fun to watch, TML needs to spend that money elsewhere, with so many options on the wing for much cheaper.
Hope this one happens!

Philly declines. Myers is too valuable long term. We need our young defenders more than forwards.

Zero chance we move Myers for Kap. Out RD depth doesn’t allow it. Brauns gone after the year and Niskanen the next. After them it’s Myers and Friedman as the only RDs. Add to that both our top defense prospects play the left side. If anything we need to add a RD not deal one.

Yeah his offensive game is a bit lacking but his athleticism in the d zone is awesome and he would be perfect beside a guy like Rielly.

If he ends up with paired with Sanheim long term I’d be happy. I think they can compliment each other.

It’s the top pairing right defender long term that’s the question.

Provorov/ ?
SanheimMyers

Ghost most likely moved before expansion with our top 2 defensemen prospects both lefties (Zamula,York)
