This is a steal for the Wings

The 2nds basically cancel each other out

So a struggling AA for a 1st AND Samuelsson (team USA captain), plus a useful depth forward who’s good defensively in Girgensons
*Neilsen is 35, and with only 4pts has zero value

This is a pretty huge overpayment for AA

Actually, i just saw Neilsen has 2 years left at 5.25mil after this

This just went from an overpayment,
to a seriously horrible trade that shouldn’t even be considered for a second by Buffalo standards

As a Detroit Fan I'd be jumping for joy with this trade. Buffalo's 1st Rounder is a potential top 10 pick. And getting rid of Nielsens contract. And getting Samuelsson. Dropping 10 or so spots in the second round is arbitrary. Talent is mostly equal in that stage of the draft. And Girgensons is a UFA after this year so no long term commitments to him. All for AA?

If I were a Sabres fan I'd be grabbing my torch and pitchfork and calling for the GM's head!
