No, get a better 1 LHD not a righty who most likely doesn’t fit. Mete probably doesn’t help on his off side. Get a real number 1 centre. Then this team is a contender. Even with price.

This isn’t from a bias POV either. You guys should be looking to get a 1c and 1 LHD and I think you guys will be soild. Definitely could be a team that battles w the leafs and bolts after the bruins talent drops cuz of age.

So idk how many people on here follow Sean Tierney on twitter but he posted a thread today. It showed that MTL should be a playoff team. Shooting percentage and save percentage have let them down. They’re creating high quality chances just not scoring. They’re 3rd in shot share rates and 5th in xG share. They’re solid defensively. Not great, not bad. If their actual goals for gets closer to their xGF they could make a little run and get back in the race but that shooting percentage has to go up.

Biggest issue is a number 1C. Danault is not it.

It's kind of a strange argument to assume that the Habs are suddenly a playoff team with the switch in net to Murray from Price. Canadians get Murray relatively cheaply, but Canes have to give up a lot just to assume Price and his cap.

Pittsburgh won't weaken itself at the G position, so any trade for Murray would need a goalie coming back their way.

I think Price is great, but Montreal will have to hold back $4M wherever he gets traded. At $6M, he's a great piece. At $10M, he's an anchor. We all know it. But the Habs have the luxury of being the second-last place on earth that a UFA seems to want to sign, so eating $4M/year is no big deal. So the real question comes down to what is the value of Price at $6M for 6 years? (And, if you're Carolina, in a couple of years, you can eat $3M and send a still capable Price on to another team, where his cap hit is $3M/year).

So if you're trading Price with a $6M for 6 contract, what's a fair return. What you have seems steep, but I suspect there would be a lot of interest from a number of teams if their goalie positing can be anchored for $6M.
