Sharks 2020-21 with Toffoli and Jesper Fast after Deadline Selling

Created by: CheechYou
Team: 2020-21 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 16, 2020
Published: Jan. 16, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Patty and Jumbo come back to breathe down Gregor and Sasha's necks and play from time to time as player-coaches. Give some guys a break here and there in the regular season too if not on the 4th line. Win-win I think for everyone.

What a Sweede 3rd line to incentivize Fast to sign with SJ.

Wilson trusts Nabby to work with Joner to get his game back. Not like he has better options -- he'll have to cut losses big time to get a team to accept a trade with trades a la how TML did with Carolina in trading Marleau by attaching that 1st.

My guess is that TML would want Heed and Dell for a mid-rounder each. Considering Dubas's love of advanced numbers, he is likely to stay away from Melker Karlsson.

Dell's worth a 2nd rounder with the way he's been playing IMO as the starter over the past month or so, and fits in perfectly with what TOR needs.
Heed's an upgrade on Ceci, by play yes, but not by too much, mostly because he costs less than 1mil and Ceci costs 4mil.
Karlsson with 1mil retained is also perfect for what the Leafs need -- a defensively minded guy on the bottom line who's probably the Sharks' best forward PKer on the top PK in the league.

Melker is one of the top penalty killers in the west. Super durable, blocks heaps of shots and forechecks like a madman.

Kinda of a joke to think Heed is better than Ceci. Ceci plays 20 minutes a game, Heed 11, Ceci plays PK, does Heed? Leafs are filled at wing at do have enough PKers. Dell, it's more a question of what Leafs plans for a goalie next year, but a retained Dell certainly might be a good deal for the Leafs or any team,

How's it a joke to think Heed's better than Ceci? Cap hit doesn't necessarily mean he's better. No question Heed's an upgrade to Ceci IMO. Ceci may play PK, but he doesn't play PP, which Heed does. And it's tough for Heed to play minutes when there's EK65 and Burns on the right side already, and between Ferraro and Simek, Heed's the odd man out. Also, Sharks PK units are stacked (as the top PK team in the league) and with Heed in and out of the lineup, there's no place for him on there. Dillon's another man though that can fit for PK if TML have needs there, but honestly, Heed is a much better option for TML since under the new coach they're emphasizing speed which though Heed might not be fastest, is still a fast guy who can hold his own defensively on an average level.

Sorry you've reading too many post about Ceci. He has played OK even good at times since Keefe arrived. Barrie is the worse Leaf Dman by far, but of course folks the unknowing look had his previous point totals and think he is superior Dman. Gee, the Sharks aren't doing well at all defensively they are don't want to give Heed any minutes.

I watch Leaf games too. Under Babs, Barrie was pretty terrible but he's been pretty good with Keefe, way better than Ceci, with the emphasis on speedy zone-entries/exits instead of a grinding dump-and-chase.

Except Barrie is poor is own end (so is Reilly) but because of his points Reilly gets a free pass too.
