Detroit passes. Vesey is a UFA and won't sign in Detroit so he has no value to Detroit. That leaves Samuelsson and a 4th which at that low of a return Detroit has no problem holding to AA for another season.

Agree Detroit passes. This trade happens if you change from 4th to a 2nd. Detroit will accept vesey for a cap dump.

Samuelsson is a pretty good prospect. Was just captain of Team USA at world juniors and was 32nd overall pick in 2018

As a Detroit fan I consider this because of Samuelson. He'd be a good LHD counterpart to Hronek or Seider. I agree the pick needs to improve from a 4th to a 2nd at least as Vesey has very little real value here.

I watched the WJC and I agree. He is a solid defensive defenseman with basically no offensive upside and can be easily forced into turning the puck over and is an average skater. He is younger version of DeKeyser he even goes to the same college but DeKeyser put up more points. Detroit has mostly defensive defensemen even Seider more of a defensive defenseman and not known for his offensive play. Hronek is really Detroit's only 2 way defenseman. Cholowski is an offensive defenseman but if his defense doesn't improve it won't matter. That's why I don't think Samuelsson and a 4th will cut it.

AA has 2 more seasons before he is a UFA so there is no reason to trade him when his value is at its lowest. Plus Yzerman said in an interview Friday "it doesn't make sense to trade assets at this point but we will continue rebuilding through the draft and free agency." Now he is most likely talking about AA. He is saying they aren't going to trade this season or he is saying the offers for AA he has been getting aren't enough to pry him away. The interview is on Fox Sports Detroit's site if you want to watch it.

Yzerman set the bar for AA He wants a 2020 2nd round pick+b level prospect Samuelsson is fine but Buffalo's 2020 2nd rounder needs to be included as well.

As a Sens fan they dont move any asset for a depth forward. The team is absolutely chalked full of them. The Sens will be moving out all their depth pending UFAs to allow some young guys time in the NHL this year. I dont think the value is off but you've chosen the wrong team to try and move him to.

Don’t forget having a bad year and likely has little value at the moment aside from maybe a 4th round pick

Still worth more than Thompson or Rodrigues.

With all the injured forwards Buffalo has why is Mittelstadt still in the AHL?
