Non-verbal comments like this do nothing to advance our knowledge or inform the debate. I'm not endorsing any of them, but on the surface each of these trades has some defensible reasoning behind it: Pittsburgh could use veteran depth on offense and defense; Winnipeg could certainly use a good RhD; Edmonton certainly needs a high-quality scoring winger; and Montreal gets two first-round picks this year and three prospects. If you think one or more of these deals lacks merit, you should tell us why. A snide dismissal doesn't demonstrate eloquent insight but quite the opposite.

I don't like the idea of taking Kulikov from WPG because I'm a person who likes to have cap space regardless of my position in standings. Because of this, I try to avoid retaining salaries.
I don't think MTL will move Scandella right after they traded for him
