My reasoning is that they get a good goal scorer that can help them contend for "4 million" since they are jettisoning Komarov. The draw for Philly is getting the 4 million in cap space.

Yeah, I’d prefer to move Ladd, just so the Isles aren’t taking on too much extra money, but the term isn’t too much of an issue, they will have money coming off the books soon.

Isles need that $4M to pay Barzal and Pulcok. They simply cannot add another long term high priced W at this time as we are already looking at needing to move Leddy in the offseason for cap relief.

Yeah, although Lou does like giving money to older players, so maybe he'd rather see JVR come in while Barzal gets one of those insane bridge deals that come with a built in 10 million dollar QO in 3 years.
